The Mason County Central (MCC) Youth Running Club is an exciting opportunity for 3rd, 4th, and 5th-grade students to develop a love for running, improve physical fitness, and learn about healthy habits in a fun, supportive environment. Our focus is on participation, effort, and personal growth. Students will engage in various running activities, games, and exercises designed to enhance endurance, speed, and overall well-being.

General Information:
Grades Eligible: 3rd, 4th, and 5th Grade Students.
Location: MCC School Grounds (specific fields, track, gymnasium as designated by coach).
Dates: September 14th, 2026 to October 21st, 2026.
Time: Mondays and Wednesdays from 3:15 pm to 4:10 PM.
Cost: $15 per student (or $30 for a family).

Earlier today:

Congratulations to the boys team for their 5th place finish. The Spartans were led by medalist, Noah Holden and Locklan Tacktor. Locklan Tacktor, Wesson Thorne and Wyatt Herwig all ran career bests today!

Congratulations to the girls team on their 7th place finish. The Lady Spartans were led by medalist, Merrick Tacktor who also set the school record for a 5k time of 19:11. Previous record holder was Leta Larsen who ran a 19:13. Kenzie Wood, Sophia Quick, Evy Cronk and Bailey Bullard all had career best time as well!

Congratulations to the MCC Boy's Cross Country Team for winning the WMC Mega Meet Rivers Division. The Spartans were led by medalist, Jackson Poll with a time of 17:58, followed by Noah Holden with a personal best time of 18:07, Locklan Tacktor with a time of 19:02, Freeman C**n with a personal best time of 19:46, Tyler Englebrecht with a season best time of 19:46, and Wyatt Herwig with a personal best time of 20:14.

Congratulations to the MCC Girl's Cross Country Team for winning the WMC Mega Meet Rivers Division. The Lady Spartans were led by medalist and 2nd overall, Merrick Tacktor with a time of 19:56 followed by Maddy Sterley with a seasons best 23:15, Kenzie Wood with a personal best time of 23:20, Evy Cronk with a personal best time of 24:17, Sophia Quick with a personal best time of 24:18, and Raelyn Wilson with a seasons best time of 25:11.

All the kids ran great and I am so proud of them. A great day to be a Spartan cross country runner!

JV came out strong and took the win in two sets, 25-13, 25-12.

Varsity also picked up the win in 3 sets, 25-17, 25-13, 25-10.

I thought everyone played really well tonight. We are continuing to work together, communicate, and find our flow on the court, and it’s starting to show!

A few highlights from tonight:

Raylynn Swihart - 15 assists, 3 aces, 3 kills and 3 digs
Karolina Staskova- 7 aces, 3 kills and was very strong behind the service line
Keely O’Harra - 5 kills and a solid attacking night
Ashley DeLeon Fierro - 5 kills and 11 attacks
Avery Miller - 4 aces, 15 digs and 14 serve receives, a great night defensively!

We had contributions from everyone tonight, and that’s what I love seeing. We’re building confidence, playing more consistently as a team, and starting to find our rhythm.
