If you would like to get more involved with how elections are run, consider becoming a poll worker/election inspector. Not only will you work alongside your friends and neighbors to serve the community, but will also be compensated for your time.

Who can become a poll worker?
Michigan Residents 16 & 17 years of age, or Registered Voters in Michigan age 18+. Find the list of requirements at https://www.michigan.gov/sos/elections/pollworker

What do poll workers do?
Election inspectors, i.e. poll workers, are hired, paid, and trained local government workers who assist with running local elections in compliance with Michigan Election Law. At a polling place or early voting site, election inspectors greet and check-in voters, issue ballots, and assist with tabulation. Individuals may also be hired to assist with processing absentee ballots.

How does The City of Scottville prepare poll workers for Election Day?
Poll Workers attend local training to become certified, requiring approx. 2-3 hrs. of a paid time commitment.

Please place Recycle and Garbage Bins in your normal location of pick-up (end of driveway or alleyway) for servicing on Tuesday, September 15th, no later than 7am.

Republic Services will be taking your bins by truck to be serviced, and returning them to your homes to ensure efficient and timely removal during this remaining phase of construction.

Hello Scottville, Just a heads up for everyone...we are seeing a few Facebook posts or inquiries about a Fall Celebration event for this coming weekend in Downtown Scottville. We wanted to be clear that there is NO event planned for 2026. In the past, we have seen spam attempts to create an event on Facebook and attempts to solicit donations that are NOT coming from us or from the City of Scottville DDA. Be very careful online and confirm with the DDA or City of Scottville before ever making any donation to verify authenticity.

However our DDA, does have some great preliminary plans for a new concert series in 2027 and if you are interested in helping plan a FALL CELEBRATION event for Sept. 2027 you can contact the DDA through the City of Scottville and get involved with planning!
