Murty’s Judo Center LLC

The Maryland Judo State Championships hosted a truly great Open judo competition. With 225 international judoka, the competition was fierce. Dr. Casimir competed in two weight classes, placing second in both the senior and veterans divisions for unlimited heavyweights (over 220 lbs). Despite the formidable opponents in a division of "Titans," he managed to stay relatively injury-free. Dr. Madden not only organized and orchestrated the only competition judo team to represent the city of Scranton, but in this prestigious event, he also managed to defeat every white belt and even a brown belt in his division, < 198 lbs,certainly earning his trophy. A special thanks goes to Sensei Tommy for his excellent encouragement and coaching, and to Sensei Cheryl for representing the club by taking on the demanding role of Judo Referee (Sinpan). What's most impressive is that our small club was able to compete with internationally ranked judo players. We are always grateful to Sport Team Gracie for allowing us to grow and be part of the best dojo in Northeast Pennsylvania.

Murty’s Judo Center Presents a “Snow Roll” seminar with Giedrius Karavackas!

Warm up and pre-registration starts at 5:00pm with the seminar starting at 6:00pm.

Donations are encouraged and a portion of the proceeds will be donated to charity
