Bay Area Rowing Club is a 501(c)3 non-profit rowing club in Houston, TX. Rowing is a non-impact spo BARC offers members the opportunity to row sweep and scull.
The club owns eights, fours, quads, doubles, pairs, and singles, and also can provide storage for privately owned boats. We also offer both sweep and sculling classes, as well as 'Try It, You'll Like it' sessions for those new to rowing. Members' rowing objectives range from racing to recreation. Class schedule for 2023 is now set and registration is open!
In addition to our regular Learn To Row courses, we are offering a 2-hour Try It You'll Like It Session on March 25. This is a great way to test drive rowing before committing to the full course.

Bay Area Rowing Club is offering a rowing merit badge class for scouts starting on September 18th, 2022 at 8 am. There are a limited number of spots available on a first-come basis. If not all spots are filled by scouts, parents or leaders are welcome to attend and get in introduction to rowing.

Thanks to all our Space City Sprints 2017 participants and volunteers! As we wrap up and post the final results and photos, we did manage to get an aerial shot of the Mixed Novice 4+ event - the last one of our regatta. Photos and results to follow, within a week. We are proud to announce that Space Sprints 2017 event planning has been completed! We will have eight clubs this year: Bayou Rowing (Louisiana), Greater Houston (GHRC), Lake Houston (LHRC), New Orleans (NORC), The Woodlands (RCTW), Rice, Texas A&M Galveston (TAMUG), and of course BARC. Approximately 140 rowers are registered across these clubs, including ~45 to 50 junior rowers. Including all rowers, coaches, and our volunteers, we are looking at a regatta attendance of at least 165+. This event is open to the public.
