This week’s trainer spotlight on Kim!
My favorite exercises keeps changing. I’ve been doing Gyrokinesis since 2002, so every decade my body wants different openings. The awakening series for neck, shoulders, hands, and feet brought me to GK. I’m always on the lookout for awesome hand and foot exercises. Side arches are my current exercise of choice.
I am a fiber artist, so flexible and healthy hands and spine keep me in my creative flow.
Come join my Monday 10:00 AM all-levels Gyrotonic class. It is perfect for people coming back to the Gyrotonic practice after a hiatus.

This weeks trainer spotlight is Erica!
“Gyrokinesis spinal motions with arm movements was what helped my skeptical teenage self fall in with love Gyrotonic.
Through imagery in free space, I started to feel the support my body needed to be doing for itself on the equipment. It also transformed my approach to ballet, and helped me through many injuries.
A decade later, the Archway course added another level of challenge and fun, requiring even deeper internal connections in order to navigate my body hanging in gravity, which I now take with me into all Gyrotonic movements.
I am a contemporary dancer, student of aikido, and youth aikido and dance instructor. I believe that all movement modalities have value, and I love to see how they overlap and influence each other to make well-rounded movers and human beings.
I’m working to build a youth movement school.
Follow the journey
I currently lead an all-levels Gyrotonic class at 5:00 on Tuesdays.”

This week’s trainer spotlight is: Jessica!
What exercise made you first fall in love with gyro?
“I always liked the exercises behind the body, like shoulder release, or arms spiralling behind in the arch & curl series.
Those exercises really messed with my brain (since my eyes could not help) and I had to learn how to feel into the movement. It’s such a great way to learn to trust your body!
Fun Fact:
One of my favorite hobbies is being a Tango DJ. I studied music as a kid, and kept doing music stuff throughout my life. Being a DJ is the most recent (and fulfilling) chapter.
Jessica offers evening and weekend sessions. “I would say an overarching theme of sessions with me is humor. This work is fun!”

This week’s spotlight: Elaine!
As the current managing owner of Seattle Changing Room, Elaine is deeply committed to keeping the studio’s warm, welcoming feel at the heart of everything. “I want it to feel like a calming and supportive space for clients and staff alike from the moment they walk in. I love our client community and want everyone to feel accepted and cared for here. Our trainers are truly top-notch. They bring so much care and attention to each person they work with.” Elaine especially enjoys witnessing the transformations that unfold over time through the GYROTONIC® Method. “Seeing that ‘aha!’ moment … that realization that they can do more than they believed … never gets old.”

Up next for trainer spotlight: Marissa!
Favorite Exercise: The exercise that made me fall in love with Gyrotonic was a simple Single Leg Bicycle. A super slow Single Leg Bicycle is still the first thing I crave in my personal practice, nothing steadies my pelvis and settles my femur in the socket quite like it! It brings an immediate sense of grounding to my whole nervous system.
Offerings: Join Marissa on Friday May 1st 5-6pm for a ONE TIME POP UP CLASS!! Open to all levels. Use promo code “MeetMarissa” when registering for $10 off of regular class price
Fun Fact: Marissa has lived on 3 continents.
