With how nuts 2020 has been, it’s good to be reminded of events we can all celebrate. Happy Lucas Horowitz Day!

Happy Lucas Horowitz Day!!

07/28/2016

Today is the 1st annual celebration of Lucas Day in Washington! One year ago today, Lucas Horowitz hit his historic shot over the CF wall to beat Auburn. It was one of the most amazing things that happened on the road to the State Championship. My apologies for the guy filming the video. He sorta lost his mind.

It is with a very weary and broken heart that we share the news of the loss of one of our dear Cascade LL Baseball Mamas. Marci Bowen passed away yesterday, January 21st after a long hard-fought battle with cancer. Her fight allowed her to be there for every step of the 2015 Cascade road to San Bernardino supporting her son Jake and the rest of the team.

Through Little League baseball some strong bonds and relationships were built between the boys, but also the parents, grandparents, uncles, aunts, cousins, extended family and friends. Many of the boys of Cascade and their families have been sharing life on the baseball diamond for well over 5 years. In that time we have become more than friends. When we call ourselves the Cascade Family, we mean that in every sense of the word.

As this family has lived and supported Marci and the Bowen family through the hardship of the past couple of years, we have been humbled by Marci's quiet and determined fight to live and be there for her family. Somehow the practices, games and tournaments ahead of us simply won't be the same. There will be an empty chair for the Mama who was always there.

In the past 24 hours there have been many tears, hugs and even some momentary smiles for the Cascade Family as we remember the gift God gave us in knowing, loving and being loved by Marci. She will be dearly missed.

Today we wanted to do something we don't often do here. We'd like to share some news that is difficult at best, and request that you keep our baseball family in your thoughts and prayers. One of our family members has been battling cancer for quite some time now, and today the news isn't as positive as we'd like it to be. There are choice words many of us willingly say about this horrible disease that takes parents from children, children from parents, and friends from friends way too often, but may we simply ask that you keep our family at the front of your thoughts and prayers? We thank you for celebrating with us, and we thank you for allowing us to share a bit of our pain. As we all know, life simply isn't all victories and celebrations, and we'd be remiss not to reach out to all of you to ask for all the good thoughts and prayers we can get. Thank you. Hug your loved ones a little bit tighter and be thankful for all you have today. Sincerely, The Cascade Baseball Family

What else would we do on New Year's Eve but put a compilation video together. There is more gathering to do in order to include the San Bernardino portion of this past year's run, but this video captures our 2015 Goal - Beat Mercer Island and win the Washington State Championship.

I've got to share this with the MLB season wrapping up. If you've paid any attention at all to the BlueJays' pitcher, RA Dickey, you've probably dropped a jaw or two watching him. Well, check this out!!! It's not used by many (RA Dickey being the only) because it's not easy...but when it's good. Oh, BOY, is it effective!!! Click on the link below and just watch over and over the video at the beginning of the article. Watch the movement of that ball - even the catcher is guessing as to where it's going to end up!
