Our co-founder & owner Matt Holland had back surgery yesterday. He’s recovering well, moving better than expected, and reflecting on something worth sharing.

Matt has spent his career helping people train through pain, setbacks, and the long, unglamorous work of rebuilding. What most people don’t know is how much of that knowledge came from living it himself. Why we specialize in modifications and always have a way to support your training through an injury.

Twelve surgeries for Crohn’s disease.
A shattered wrist.
Rotator cuff surgery.
A broken ankle.
Four car accidents over seven years, each one before he’d recovered from the last.
And now this.

He’ll tell you it changed how he coaches. It’s also a big part of why NWFP is built the way it is. High standards, low ego. Train smarter. Meet people where they are and build them up patiently.

“Setbacks can either harden you or deepen you. I’m choosing the second one.” -

Wishing him a strong recovery. We’re proud to train alongside him.

Always going to get the most honest feedback while the heart rate is still elevated!

Performance & Conditioning is our Thursday class format and provides an opportunity for skill building, mobility and agility work, a conditioning block to spike the heart rate, and provides a balance to our other higher metabolic formats (Cardio Strength) or heavier strength building (Strength & Muscle). It’s perfect for when you’re already feeling pretty sore from Wednesday and want to make sure you can still go hard on Friday.

Thanks for sharing your honest feedback! We’ll miss you these next few months while you’re off ⛵️

Over 8 years and 200 sessions. Marathon. Triathlon. RAMROD. An aerial silks class. And now, a strong maternal focus with the newest NWFP community Member: Mateo!

Heather has never once approached a goal like it was out of reach. She shows up with a total focus, stays open to what the work actually requires, and then, quietly, she gets there. Every time.

“Working with her for the last 8 years has been a consistent joy. Watching her and Yarian build a life that strong, is something else entirely. “ - Trainer

Welcome to the world, Mateo. You’ve got two incredible parents.
