One of the greatest honors at Emerald City Karate is watching these young students begin their journey as Little Dragons and, through years of dedication, determination, and hard work, grow into Black Belts. That's dedication personified!

Congratulations to our newest students on receiving their Nafuda name cards! These cards proudly hang in our dojo and mark the beginning of an exciting journey. As students earn each new belt, their nafuda moves up the wall, celebrating every milestone on the path to black belt.

Every class is another opportunity to build character, develop new skills, and become the best version of yourself both inside and outside the dojo.

From a white belt... to a fully certified Shodan (1st Degree Black Belt).

Every black belt has a story, and every story begins with that very first class.

Today we're celebrating an incredible milestone as Liam Sensei has officially earned his Shodan in Shudokan Karate-Do, Okinawa Seito Karate-Do. It's been an honor to watch him grow from a young white belt into a skilled martial artist, a leader, and a fine young man.

These photos capture something special—his very first belt promotion as a white belt, and his most recent promotion as he receives his Shodan certificate. Years of hard work, perseverance, and determination are reflected in these two moments.

Even more meaningful, Liam achieved this milestone alongside his father, who also earned his Shodan on the very same day. Training together, encouraging one another, and reaching this goal as a family is a memory that will last a lifetime.

One of the greatest privileges as instructors is watching our students grow—not only into strong martial artists, but into confident, respectful, and successful young men and women. We can't wait to see where Liam's martial arts journey leads next, and we're just as excited to watch him continue to succeed beyond the dojo.

Congratulations, Liam Sensei—and congratulations to your father as well! Your dedication and perseverance have inspired our entire dojo.
