Save Lower Woodland Park: Protect Our Paths, Safety, Trees, and Neighborhood Livability 04/15/2026

As you may be aware, Lincoln High School plans to add a soccer field to Lower Woodland Park. Under their preferred plan, "Option A", the new field will be pushed up directly against the skate park walls. The change will remove all open space around the skate park and overcrowd the skate park with people overflowing from the athletic fields.

Option A will also cut off access to the skate park from the east (Tangletown and Wallingford). SPS claims that people can walk across the synthetic turf sidelines of the new fields, but they have no plan to keep those sidelines clear of equipment and kids. Further, dogs won't be allowed access at all, and the access will be unsafe for any vulnerable populations.

We are advancing Option C for the new field, which maintains and enhances all spacing and access paths into the park. Could we enlist your support? You can see details and graphics on our petition website, here:

Thank you for your consideration! Let me know if you have questions or we could present to your group.
