The 2025 recap continues, looking back at our first Opening Day trip and 🥇 - what a rip and what a trip, the cut was some bucket list stuff for everyone on the team that didn’t row at UW….

And now onto 🇨🇦 where the gang made it across to border and regrettably back in. Club Eight tasted that golden maple syrup in the heats, but our northern neighbors were rightly afraid of our American muscle so the Mounties called off the final for safety reasons. The Sasquatch in 6-seat beat the Wendigo allegations at least- they are two different cryptids

Next on deck in our 2025 review- a two-peat in the Senior Eight at IDR, before sending off to OUBC, off to the fleet, and back to Princeton, and Wessel home to Holland.

Potomac’s 2nd entry in the Men’s Club 8+ event, the People’s Varsity put together a great race on the Charles River, coming 5th place in the club designation at the event and 21st overall. When asked for a race recap, resident silk merchant Pedro Santos and engine room Gareth Markel could only muster two words: ROLL TIDE.

⭐️ ⭐️ ⭐️ Thank you for your thoughtful words and the great headshots 📸

🚨 mercenary alert 🚨 Congrats to and on their rip down the course with the Charlottesville Postal Workers Association. Founded in 1757 by America’s fourth president Zachary Taylor, this is one of the oldest alumni rowing and service organizations in the country, with a long and storied history. Fun fact: their blaze orange livery inspired the old timey saying, “what in the blazes?” Their coach is Swiss. Glad to have you been in red and white fellas!

Number 5 in the final results, number 3 on the bow, but number 1 in your hearts - this is the masters four. A Masters 40+ four, not a 30+ four. Well, one of our 40+ fours. Blitzed around RBC by a mighty (and youthful) MRC crew, this gang held on and Tokyo Drifted through Elliot to pass Bow 2 in front of the fans - first and foremost, this crew was for the fans. Thanks to for the clutch Pocock!

C: Miranda Tompkins (Whitman, Colgate)
4: Seth Dalenberg (IUPUI)
3: Phil Hoyle (West Springfield, UW)
2: Jon Moncton (Northwestern)
1: Peter Clements (Peddie, Williams)
Coach: Lee Rumpf
