We are the largest and oldest dragon boat club in the Seattle area. Our club makes its home on the beautiful shores of Lake Washington at the Leschi Marina.

Day 1 down. Gold for the Sr B Women, Silver for the ACP (Survivor), and bronze for the Sr C Mixed. Sr B Mixed were rock solid in the face of some very tough competition in a fairly large division. It is hot and humid and we are way out of our element, but it was an amazing day of team building, racing, and camaraderie.

We are so proud of our paddlers. You guys worked super hard and you bring so much to the team on and off the water! Congratulations to JT, Barry, Rich and Annie for making it onto Team USA. But I'm also super proud of Noriko and Harry for trying out also and were so extremely close to being part of the crew. Its a priviledge to coach all off you! Founded in 1996, Seattle SAKE is the oldest and largest dragon boat club in the region. They’ve grown into a powerhouse, supporting paddlers of all levels—from beginner to international competitors—across dragon boat, outrigger canoe (OC6), and SUP disciplines. Practices are held year‑round at Leschi South Moorage on Lake Washington, with rigorous sessions twice weekly plus racing-focused extras in season
What makes SAKE special is not just their competitive success but their thriving, all‑inclusive community. Members span ages 20 to 80+, and the club champions mental, physical, and emotional wellness—whether you’re competing or paddling for fun.
