Honoring Memorial Day through practice.

Aikido reminds us that discipline, courage, sacrifice, and community are not abstract ideas — they are lived through the body, through presence, and through how we show up for one another.

The dojo is open and classes are on as scheduled tonight. Whether you come to train hard, reconnect, or simply move and breathe together, we welcome you on the mat.

See you at the dojo.

Ukemi Workshop with Sam Taitel (they/them) at Seattle Aikikai!
Saturday April 25, 11am-1pm

All levels welcome. All bodies welcome. By donation.

"Ukemi, first and foremost for me, is to keep yourself safe. Once we attain a certain level, finding spaciousness in movement allows us to explore and experiment to deepen our training. This workshop will offer concrete exercises, various options to feel what fits, the why behind our goal, and help you discern the questions to ask for your body and practice. Our focus will be on ikkyo and iriminage because these techniques entail lots of ukemi complexities and themes that can be applied across various scenarios. Come challenge yourself, interrogate, and play! Come as you are. Bring a friend. Let’s train together." -ST
