Monthly theme for the dojo: Patience

10/13/2026

📣 Dear members! There’s a very special opportunity available for you to serve our dojo community!

We currently have an interim member opening on our Ethics Committee, and we are looking for dojo members and members of the wider dojo community, such as partners or parents, for this appointment.

If you are passionate about maintaining an ethical, supportive, and inclusive dojo environment, this is your chance to be involved!

Committee members uphold the Code of Conduct, and serve as trusted dojo liaisons. They hear and review grievances from members and the community, offer guidance, and determine resolution.

Members serve a term from one to three years. Normally, members are appointed at the annual membership meeting. However, since we are imminently short one member, an exception will be made.

Interested? DM us!

What an amazing weekend with Okamoto Sensei in Portland! Thank you to Okamoto Sensei (Sandokai AikidoKyoto　参同会合気道京都) for making the west coast one of your stops in the U.S. And thank you to Portland Aikikai for putting on this wonderful seminar! Our Seattle Aikikai group was very large, with all but two of the instructors attending. Everyone was energized and trained hard. The energy on the mat was incredible.
