West Seattle began as Seattle Civic Dance Theatre in 1983 and has has been serving the West Seattle Community for 30+ years! Their school is located in the lower level of the historic Fauntleroy Schoolhouse across from the Fauntleroy YMCA and a few blocks from the Faun

"I have danced with DWS for 12 years. I've always felt a great sense of community here and it's given me a passion for dancing and hard work that I will carry with me into the future.

After graduating, I will go to college and see where the world takes me. I hope to always continue dancing and making art!"

"I’ve danced at DWS for 4 years.

Since I’ve started dancing with Dance West Seattle, I have gained confidence in myself and my performing capabilities. I love the community and connecting with others through dance, and I’m honored to have been a part of such incredible people’s lives.

I’m excited for the next phase of my life to begin in college! I’m planning to do a Chemical Engineering major as well as a dance minor."
