Great day of training on CQ (Cultural Intelligence) - I forgot to take photos of the event, it was so engaging. At least we remembered the dinner photo. Not heard is the always powerful conversation of these wise, funny, and beautiful women leaders.

Great time with our founding talking all things Cultural Intelligence, exploring tools to address Vertical Diversity, and engaging in dialogue and feedback. This group has become not just colleagues but friends and trusted advisors over the last year and a half together. I’m excited about all that is yet to come as CQFellows grows and creates more!

15 years ago today I got a call from Dra. Delia Nüesch-Olver to do this crazy thing and work with her in Latin America — but do so by relocating to Seattle, because after all, she and her husband both had a call to serve Jesus and we could fly to Latin America from anywhere. I was living in Rochester NY and used to joke that Seattle was my back up plan because I enjoyed the city so much. Latin America had been a very formative part of my journey by then and I had even been auditing a Spanish language history/culture class at RWC “for some reason” because I didn’t want to lose my connection. The photo makes me laugh because we often can’t advertise a potential transition. The same evening Dra. Delia called I was scheduled to go see The Wizard of Oz with young adults from Edgewood FMC. I don’t remember much at all about the production- I was distracted thinking about the decision before me. When we got back to the church to pick up our cars I said goodbye and went back into the church to pray about what God might have next. The rest is history - and may I say I’ve loved the connections, ministry, and opportunity the last 15 years have brought me by saying yes! So many people places and things I cannot imagine life without! Memorial Day weekend always has so many memories and this is one I cherish

…and here’s the thing. I don’t love social media because…I connected with amazing people off photo, off socials. The depth of conversation over coffee and pupusas and in hallways and…cannot be captured here. So I upload these acknowledging oh what is missed! Oh the unseen! Oh you who are beloved and valued and not captured for socials!

I mean, too many moments and I can’t steal all the photos to represent all the things. But here are a few I’ve collected so far. I like lots of these powerful leaders
