Bellevue PD is the only police department in the world that has officers who are certified to teach the (WE) program and offer free, regularly occurring, self defense classes for women!
Upcoming WE classes through July:
Sunday 06-01-25, 1:20pm-3:10pm (class 14, advanced guard get ups β direct get up, knee shield, power frame) **3 year WE Anniversary**
Sunday 06-08-25, 1:20-3:10pm (class 15, rear choke defense) **3 year WE Anniversary pt. 2**
Saturday 06-14-25, 2-3pm (class 1, combat base, trap and roll β standard, hair grab)
Sunday 06-22-25, 1:20-3:10pm (class 2, standard wrist releases β 3 variations, Trap and roll punch block, wrist pin, spread hand variation)
Sunday 06-29-25, 1:20-3:10pm (class 3, front choke defenses - 3 variations, guard get ups - standard/ false surrender)
Sunday 07-06-25, 1:20-3:10pm (class 4, inverted wrist releases - 4 variations, guard get ups - 3 & 4)
Saturday 07-26-25, 1-2:30pm (class 5, super slap, guard get up 5 & 6, choke /wrist pin variations)
The WE program has 20 techniques that are divided into 15 lessons. Each class will cover a different lesson and focus on one or more of the 4 phases of an assault perpetrated by a stranger or non-stranger. The classes can be completed in any order and over 2500 women have participated so far!
No previous experience is necessary, 12 years and older, fitness/workout attire recommended.

It's been well over a year and a half since our last 1/2 marathon, but Row House crew we know you'll be READY! You'll row 21097.5 meters, be cheered on by Row Angels, and then restored afterward with hydrating drinks and tasty snacks. Save the date of August 28th, and start getting those meters in.
We'll also have physical therapy consults with Lake WA Physical Therapy and a pop-up Body Shop shop that day with none other than fabulous member Verna Seal!
