Last year, the National Drowning Prevention Alliance’s data indicated a loss equivalent to 10 school buses, a deeply concerning statistic.

What's even more distressing is that NDPA's most recent data now shows that we lose the equivalent of 11 school buses full of children to fatal unintentional drownings each year in the US. According to the CDC, for every 1 fatal child drowning, another 7-8 children are seen in emergency departments for non-fatal drownings.

It's an alarming trend, but together with NDPA, we can make a difference. Water safety education and proactive measures are now more vital than ever.

Meet SwimGuru’s newest additions to the team!

Coach Rory was a swimmer before he was three, and has carried a passion for swimming ever since. After 15 years of competitive experience, 7 years of coaching in California, and a decade of swimming the lakes, rivers, and beaches of the Pacific Northwest, Rory’s love and respect for the water has only grown. He is excited to pass on the tools and techniques to be safe and proficient in the water, so everyone can feel the freedom of swimming.

Coach Breanna has been swimming for over a decade, and was a part of her high school’s swim team! On top of teaching swimming, Breanna is a preschool teacher and childcare certified. Breanna strives to build comfort and confidence with swimming so her students can be safe and have fun when they swim on their own time.

You may have seen Breanna and Rory in the water over the last few weeks training with Emma & Molly. We are so excited for them to join the SwimGuru team! Here’s where you’ll find them starting in May:
