Battle of Seattle

Battle of Seattle started back in 2011. It is a two day,3 round,disc golf tournament. Locations are After taking one year off we are back in action. baskets.

Same premise as the past two its a battle of discs vs. who will be victorious? thats up to you!!! This year BOS III will be an A-tier. Our goal is $3000 added cash. Please help get us to that goal by participating in the series of Battle Benny events. Or purchasing CFR discs,or even just donating for the cause. We plan to host a few events in the coming months. When? June 21st and 22nd 2014

Where? Seatac and Lakewood. Specifically Sat:Open-TAC morning,LKWD afternoon. Advanced-LKWD morning,TAC afternoon. Sun:Open-TAC morning. Advanced-LKWD morning. All will meet back at Lakewood for BBQ and awards. If there are any ties in Pro field there will be play off with safari style holes. HOW MUCH?PRO $60 AMS $50 INT $40 As long as there is at least 4 there will be a division for all age protected,woman,and rec players

Keep in mind this is truly a battle in every sense of the word so gear up for 27 holes at Seatac and at least 20 holes at Lakewood, maybe 22,on Saturday and then 27 more at Tac on Sunday and 20,or 22 at Lakewood. Pre pay online:www.chainbangerz.com or stop by the shop during business hours. Be the first 50 to pre pay and get a limited edition event poster numbered and signed by artist(sure to be a collector item). It will be different than the one pictured below. It will have the two types of artwork that will be on both CFR discs in full color and number 1-50. The premise behind the event is exactly how it sounds. It is a battle between the baskets and discs. Each year the artwork reflects that battle and is represented in different formats.Thanks to local artist Travis Bundy for creating what was once just ideas in my head, to a original and colorful reality. By doing so he gave birth to our main character "disc-gee". The first Battle of Seattle introduced the characters and each year add a new flare to the characters. Some "borrow" more main stream images to help broaden interest from those who may not know or completely understand disc golf, but can relate to artwork and pop culture. But yeah I’m sure at this point you’ve figured out. Battle of Seattle 6 is not happening this year.
Sorry for that.
If it was we would have announced & been working on it as of Oct 2018.
We are talking about possibly bringing it back in 2020.
A few things will need to happen in order for overall bigger/better success.

* If we are able to secure a third course.
* Improve on RWM & Tac
* More help from ALL of the community to improve on an overall community effort to make it even more EPIC!!
It will take the whole disc golf as well as tax payer/citizens & members of the Seatac,white center & Burien community to make this event bigger/better.

Shouts out to the TRUE rockstars!!! Holding it down at Tac Chuck had the support from Ron Weimer,Tim Coye,Noah Kandler,Jamie Cordova,Jason Dotson & Drew Dotson.

At RWM Dana Etienne,Robbi Drahos,Nicolas DeMercy,Daniel Ewing, & Ron Werner!

These guys were there Saturday most of the day in the hot sun & even Sunday during the battle of Seattle most of them 8+ hours.

An event this size & scope should of easily had triple that amount of volunteers,quadruple would have been even better,to relieve in 1-2 hour shifts. As well as help alleviate some of the concerns brought forth by the players.

Go to any A-tier in anytown USA w/285 participants 2courses/3 rounds with 2 tds & 11 volunteers & let me know how that event goes over.

Bottom line,quite honestly,we made history!! Here how & here are the facts:
**Largest event in the state to date
**Largest field of top tier players to ever attend a Wa dg event
**Most amount of added cash to any event (largely due to the 4 battle Benny’s Chuck Mintz ran like a champ & AM’s coming out in full force)

That as well as all new baskets at both courses,some new tee signs @ RWM.
Courses looked pretty top notch,also considering there were about 10 total volunteers,some multiple days,just working as hard as humanly possible to make it all go down prior to event.

Seriously as there is actually a moment to take a deep breath. I’m astounded by it all.

A few things leading up to event.

Please share,as most participants are not on this fb page.

***Crucial that you show up at least 1/2 hour prior to tee time.
You can certainly get there an hour or even two in advance.

**Tee times posted at www.PDGA.com

****Make sure you CHECK IN when you arrive

**Lunch will be served from 11-3pm Saturday @ RWM(Lkwd) . Please arrange your schedule accordingly to accommodate for that.

***All pro divisions & MA1 your first round is at Seatac. 1st tee is actually hole #6.

***MA40,MA50,MA60,MA2,FA1,FA2,MJ15 your first round is at RWM (Lkwd). Check in near #1 & tee off @ hole #2.

***No smoking of any kind in ALL King County & City of Seatac Parks.

***30 second per throw rule as well as overall rate of play will be strictly enforced.

Huge shouts out to Hellbent Brewing Company!! These guys are doing not only the most amazing thing for the Battle of Seattle but for the Disc golf community. Essentially they did not 1,not 2,but 3 collaboration limited run beers. We sold out of the first two & we will have some of the third “special edition” available at the battle of Seattle awards ceremony. All proceeds go to Discovering Open Spaces & our biggest project to date. Flowing Lake Disc Golf Course. Please help us put more courses in the ground & buy some tasty beer!!! Beers for Baskets!!!
