Holy s**t, THUNDERDOME.
I’m still kind of blown away by how truly amazing saturday was.
We took a ridiculous idea — throw a s**tload of bands together, build a stage outside an axe throwing bar, and basically see what happens — and somehow it turned into one of the coolest days we’ve ever had at Axe Kickers.
And that was 100% because of the bands and the people who showed up to support them.
Every band really brought it. Everyone worked together, changeovers were smooth, people helped each other with gear, bands stuck around and watched other bands, and the whole thing genuinely felt like a COMMUNITY.
That’s exactly what I want Axe Kickers to be.
Not just another place bands come in, play 30 minutes and leave. I want this to be a place where local bands actually WANT to play, meet other musicians, bring their people, find new fans, and come back again.
So seriously — to every band that played Thunderdome, every person who came through the door, bought a b**r, threw an axe, watched a band they’d never heard before, helped move gear, or just supported local music:
Thank you. From the bottom of my heart. You guys made that day very special.
And now I want MORE.
