The Responsibility Code for skiers and snowboarders is a set of rules that ensure safety on the slopes. Here is the standard code:
Always stay in control. You must be able to stop or avoid people or objects.
People ahead or downhill of you have the right-of-way. You must avoid them.
Stop only where you are visible from above and do not restrict traffic.
Look uphill and avoid others before starting downhill or entering a trail.
You must prevent runaway equipment.
Read and obey all signs, warnings, and hazard markings.
Keep off closed trails and out of closed areas.
You must know how and be able to load, ride, and unload lifts safely. If you need assistance, ask the lift attendant.
Do not use lifts or terrain when impaired by alcohol or drugs.
If you are involved in a collision or incident, share your contact information with others and with a ski area employee.
These guidelines help create a safe and enjoyable environment for everyone on the mountain. Always practice good slope etiquette and respect others on the slopes.

Alpental Opens Wednesday, Dec. 25th
"Thanks to another shot of snow this week our teams were able to get the mountain ready for its big day. Given snow conditions and the expected storms over the next few days, we're planning a phased approach to opening Alpental lifts and terrain. Lower mountain will be first to open Wednesday, then a delayed opening of Edelweiss & frontside terrain (no Internationale/backside terrain).
Then on Thursday at 1pm we'll have the grand opening of the brand-new Internationale Chair and also open backside terrain. "
