Social movie and speaker night to get the community out and about. An evening of ocean entertainment and education!

Enjoy the film "Expediton Reef" from the California Academy of Sciences, followed by a presentation and Q&A with marine scientist and author Dr. Tessa Hill from UC Davis & Bodega Marine Lab.

Co-hosted by the SPARQ center and Sonoma Coast Surfrider.

Registration does not confirm your spot day of. Space is limited so arrive early to secure your seat - first come, first served! Doors will open at 6:30 pm and the event will begin promptly at 7:00 pm.

📣🌁 Join us on Friday, January 16 for the Bay Area People’s Hearing to protect our coast from new offshore oil and gas development. 🚫🛢️ The U.S. Department of Interior is proposing new offshore oil and gas leasing off California in the next federal offshore drilling plan. The threats to our community and region from offshore oil and gas development, including potential oil spills, are not worth the risk. Community members are advocating for the protection of our coastline, coastal economy and a clean energy future. The hearing will include an educational presentation from Surfrider Foundation, comments from community leaders, groups, and businesses, and opportunities for public engagement. Surfrider has stopped offshore oil drilling expansion before.
