We have so many new faces checking us out lately, so we thought it was time to answer the question we get asked all the time:

WHO ARE WE?

And more importantly… why Gracie Barra?

Our story actually has two different beginnings.

🇧🇷 Professor Marco began training Jiu-Jitsu at just 8 years old through a project in his neighborhood in Brazil. That project was sponsored by several organizations, including Gracie Barra. When the kids competed, they proudly represented Gracie Barra and wore the uniform.

Fortune and Feanix began their Jiu-Jitsu journey about 10 years ago at Gracie Barra Tucson. Jiu-Jitsu quickly became much more than a sport—it became a huge part of their lives.

When we chose Jiu-Jitsu for our children, we asked ourselves:

Why not learn Gracie Jiu-Jitsu directly through a Gracie lineage and system?

When we moved to Florida in 2021, our commitment to training continued. We traveled to Gracie Barra Kissimmee every day- yes, a 3.5-hour round trip-because Jiu-Jitsu meant that much to our family.

For years, it was our children’s dream to open a school of their own. Jiu-Jitsu had shaped so much of who they were, and they wanted the opportunity to share that experience with others.

That dream eventually became Gracie Barra Sebring.

We chose to open a Gracie Barra school close to home because we wanted our community to have the opportunity to experience what we had grown to love—a structured system, authentic Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu, incredible training partners, strong relationships, and a true family atmosphere.

So yes, we proudly represent the red shield.❤️
