Unsurprisingly, our penultimate racing event at Mid-Ohio Sports Car Course delivered ample action across three excellent races. Fittingly, our three championship leaders – John Antonino, Indy Andersen, and Danny O’Gara claimed the podium in Race 1.

The trio would then have to settle for a position down in Race 2, as a returning Jack Mitchell claimed victory after the safety car restart. As an indication of how tight the battle was the quartet finished within 1.3 seconds of each other.

Jack Mitchell once again won in Race 3, finished just ahead of Alexander Savage with Indy Andersen claiming the last step on the podium.

On the Masters side, Donnie Steele claimed victory across all three races. In Race 1 he was joined on the podium with Alex Hawley and Mark Jennes, Jr. In the two following races it was a repeat podium of Steele, Robert Perlmutter, and Dave Zuber.

With all eyes now on our Sebring Finale, the championship picture is starting to take shape. Antonino leads all drivers with 327 points with Danny O’Gara and Indy Andersen trailing by just 16 and 17 points respectively. With 120 points potentially on offer before accounting for drops, all three drivers have a strong chance of claiming the 2026 Lucas Oil Formula Car Driver’s Championship.

It’s a similar story in the Masters Division where Donnie Steele leads the championship with 354 points with Robert Perlmutter and Alex Hawley trailing by 35 and 37 points respectively.

🏁 WELCOME BACK TO RACING, ANTONIO SABÀTO JR.

We’re beyond proud to welcome Antonio Sabàto Jr. to the Lucas Oil School of Racing as he begins his road back to professional motorsports.

Antonio has built a remarkable career spanning more than three decades as an actor, model, producer and entrepreneur, becoming a familiar face to millions around the world. But alongside that career has always been another passion: racing.

After competing in the professional ranks of motorsports in the early 2000s, Antonio has set his sights on returning to professional competition—and we’re honored that his first stop on that journey back will be with us.

Antonio will join the Lucas Oil School of Racing at Sebring International Raceway, October 19–20, for two days of Advanced Lapping as he gets back behind the wheel, sharpens his racecraft and begins preparing for what comes next.

There’s a lot of work between deciding to race again and standing on a professional starting grid. We couldn’t be more excited to help Antonio begin that work.

🏁 There’s still time to racing in 2026!

Whether your goal is simply to experience a formula car for the first time, earn your competition license, or line up on the grid and race for the checkered flag, 2026 isn’t over yet!

With three two-day race school programs coming along with two race events (three races each event), there are plenty of opportunities to get on-track this year.

We are so ready to rip the covers off our race cars for two days of race schools at Mid-Ohio in just two weeks! The only question is whether you will be there with us to pursue your journey in motorsports. Hope to see you there!

Four straight days of racing schools and four race events are in the books! National Corvette Museum Motorsports Park once again delivered tremendous racing action. Thank you NCM Motorsports Park !!

In the first race, John Antonino fended off a fast approaching Danny O’Gara to claim race victory as the pair gapped the field by 20 seconds.

In race two, Antonino once again claimed victory but the top-6 drivers learned their lesson and kept the leader within reach.

In the third race Danny O’Gara was able to hold the field at bay until a late yellow neutralized the race, cementing his victory.

The fourth and final race of the NCM event was a thriller with the top three drivers coming over the line in under 0.05” apart with Indy Andersen claiming the tight victory over Danny O’Gara and John Antonino who finished second and third respectively.

With race drops now factored in, the championship is looking tight amongst the top three drivers. John Antonino has a narrow one point lead over Danny O’Gara and twelve point lead over Indy Andersen.

It’s a similarly tight battle amongst the Masters group, with Donnie Steele holding a 13 point lead over Alex Hawley and a 15 point lead over Robert Perlmutter.

A huge thank you to all of our racers who put on a great show this week and delivered spectacular wheel-to-wheel racing. We’ll look forward to seeing everyone at Mid-Ohio in September. And for those aspiring racers, it’s not too late to join our race schools in early-September!
