You might not necessarily be weak….your body just needs a better strategy.

Instead of the pressure always going to one area:

Shallow breathing → up
Leaking/prolapse → down
Breadloaf/lower belly pooch → out

We need pressure to be managed well 🤍

That’s exactly what we’re learning inside the Art of Breathing….COMING SOON 😍

Where do you notice pressure going in your body? Comment below ⬇️

For me the area of least resistance is always up into my neck chest and shoulders, when life gets stressful that’s the first place my breath goes 😳

The boring basics changed my body more than any hack ever will.

Most people think weight loss is about doing THE MOST. But what if it’s about learning your new body, going back to the basics, and stopping all the noise?

I’ve lost 70lbs twice, once after each pregnancy.

And I’ve learned it’s ALWAYS the mundane habits that you can actually sustain, that get you results. Not the latest hack.

🤍 Nourishing food.
🤍 Daily movement.
🤍 Muscle.
🤍 Sleep.
🤍 Sunlight.
🤍 Breathing.
🤍 Removing fear.
🤍 Prayer.
🤍 Intention.
🤍 Consistency.

Building habits you can thrive with ✨

If your front ribs don’t move, TRY THIS.

Many women fall into an upper ab gripping pattern, that can restrict front ribcage expansion upon inhalation.

If this is you, try this fool proof trick to release those pesky upper abs that are gripping, and instantly open up your front ribcage.

You will find you may finally:

💚 get a full inhale
💚 have a complete exhale
💚 and instantly feel relaxed (hello parasympathetic nervous system)

Although I speak mostly to postpartum moms through all of my work — who typically have TOO MUCH front ribcage expansion from pregnancy, and not enough expansion in the back and sides….

The body is very complex and it’s never a one size fits all approach!

Try this out, tell me how you feel, and send it to an upper ab gripper you know 🤭

HOW TO:
→ grip the skin below your bra line, where your inner abs are
→ really grip it, it may feel “sticky” or hard to grip, that means you really need this 😏
→ hold the grip, inhale through your nose
→ exhale completely - long - mouth opened - and make a HAAAAAAAAAAAAA sound.
→ do 4 breaths ☺️

Your ribcage isn’t something I want you walking around trying to “push down” all day 🥲

Your ribcage is supposed to MOVE.

It should expand in multiple directions when you inhale, and recoil when you exhale.

So when I’m working on a rib flare pattern, I’m not just thinking “pull your ribs down harder”

I’m looking at:

— can you get a full 360° inhale?
— can your back and side ribs expand?
— can you get a long, full, complete exhale?
— can you “find your stack” without gripping?
— and eventually….can you keep that control when you load?

That’s why these exercises progress from
Breath → mobility → strength

Because the goal isn’t consciously holding your ribs in the perfect position.

It’s to give your body enough options that it can manage pressure + movement automatically.

You already own a waist trainer 😏 it’s your deep core.

And unlike the one you tightly wrap around your waist that restricts breathing, your body’s corset isn’t designed to simply squeeze you tighter.

Although when strong they do help bring everything together, but there’s more than 1 player in the game….

All the muscles I’ve shown here help manage pressure, rib position, rotation, and provide deep support along your spine.
ALL of which are important for a strong corset.

You might notice 2 muscles here that technically aren’t part of your “abdominal corset” BUT they play an important role in how your ribcage moves, is positioned, and how your back is supported. And they are a VERY important part of how your deep core functions underneath them ❤️‍🔥

The goal isn’t to walk around sucking your stomach in all day.

It’s to build a body that will support you from the inside out.
