YOU WERE BORN WORTHY.
WHY DID GOLF MAKE YOU FEEL OTHERWISE?

Think about a newborn baby.

They haven’t accomplished anything.
They haven’t shot a good score.
They haven’t earned a promotion.
They haven’t proven themselves.

And yet, they’re loved, celebrated, and valued simply because they exist.

Somewhere along the way, adults start believing:

“I’ll be good enough when…”

When I shoot lower scores.
When I hit the ball better.
When I stop making mistakes.
When I become more successful.

And golf can make this even worse.

One bad round → “I’m terrible.”
One bad shot → “I can’t play.”
A missed putt → “I always choke.”

But here’s the truth:

A bad golf shot doesn’t make you a bad golfer.

And your golf score doesn’t determine your worth.

Your job as a golfer isn’t to prove that you’re good enough.

It’s to give yourself permission to learn, make mistakes, adjust, and keep improving.

Separate your performance from your identity.

You are already enough.

Now go play golf like someone who believes it. 🏌️‍♂️

“I’M JUST NOT GOOD ENOUGH.”

I hear this from golfers more than you might think.

Maybe you’ve been playing for years.

Maybe you’ve tried different tips.

Maybe you’ve had lessons.

And you’re still not playing the golf you believe you should be.

So you start thinking:

“I’m not talented enough.”

“I’ll never be consistent.”

“I always do this.”

That mindset can become the biggest obstacle to improvement.

Because when you believe you’re not good enough, you start trying to control everything.

You get tense.

You overthink your swing.

You’re afraid to make mistakes.

And you stop trusting yourself.

Here’s what I want my students to understand:

You don’t have to be good enough to improve.

You just need to be willing to learn.

Make one small adjustment.

See what changes.

Learn from the result.

Then build from there.

Your current golf game is not a permanent reflection of your ability.

It’s simply where you are right now.

Don’t try to prove you’re good enough.
Give yourself permission to get better.

Small adjustments.
Better understanding.
More confidence.
Better golf.

Most golfers practice one way and play a completely different game.

At the range:

* ✅ No pressure
* ✅ Perfect lies
* ✅ Same club over and over
* ✅ No consequences
* ✅ Plenty of time to think

On the course:

* ❌ Different lies
* ❌ Different targets
* ❌ One ball
* ❌ Pressure
* ❌ Trouble everywhere
* ❌ Only one chance to execute

That’s why hitting 50 perfect 7-irons on the range doesn’t guarantee you’ll hit a good 7-iron when you need it on the course.

The goal of practice isn’t to become great at practice.

The goal is to become better at playing golf.

That’s why I use a simple progression with my students:

ASSESS → TRAIN → TRANSFER → CHALLENGE

Train the technique first.

Then take that skill into realistic situations.

Change targets.
Change lies.
Change clubs.
Create consequences.
Practice under pressure.

Stop practicing golf swings. Start practicing golf.

That’s when your range game starts showing up on the course. ⛳

A golfer can have a beautiful swing and still struggle to break 90, 80, or even 100 if they give away too many strokes around the green.

Why putting matters so much

* 🏌️ It’s roughly 40% of your total shots for many golfers.
* 🎯 Putting is where you finish almost every hole.
* 💰 You don’t need speed, strength, or flexibility to become a great putter.
* 🧠 Confidence compounds: good putting reduces pressure on the rest of your game.
* 📉 Small improvements can quickly lower your score.

For example, if you currently average 36–40 putts per round and can get that down to 30–32, you’ve potentially saved 6–10 strokes without hitting your driver any farther.

The biggest mistake I see

Golfers spend hours working on their driver and full swing, but barely practice putting.

If you’re trying to break 90, I’d argue putting should be one of your biggest priorities, not because you need to make everything, but because you need to:

3-putt less + get better inside 6 feet + improve your distance control.

A great goal isn’t “I need to make more putts.”

It’s:

“I need to eliminate wasted putts.”

That’s a much more realistic way to improve your score.
