A few glimpses of those participating in Saturday's Reach & Row for Hospice rowing/paddling race. We had 32 racers, aged teenage to 80+, and with registration fees and donations, both that day and in advance in honor of racers, we raised almost $3,000 just for that event. To date for 2026, SBYC has raised more than $10,000 for Volunteer Hospice of Clallam County. And there's another weekend to come, with sailing regatta, dinner and dessert auction on the 26th! Thanks to both SBYC members and guests for these photos.

Such a good time on the 19th with our fundraiser for Volunteer Hospice of Clallam County! Photos will be posted as they come in from our members and our guest photographers. We will not ID anyone younger than 21 (but watch here for your faces). First up, two of the SBYC teams, the Sisters of the Sea, in tulle tutus and mermaid tiaras, and the Cheeseheads, in their insignia hats.

Thanks to all of you who joined us for yet another race on Sequim Bay! With your help, we raised almost $1900 today for Volunteer Hospice of Clallam County's respite care fun, which allows loved ones to take a brief break from caring for the terminally ill. (Of course, we continue to solicit donations! If you do send an additional donation to VHOCC via a personal check or https://www.volunteerhospice.org/give.php, please ensure you have noted that it should be credited to SBYC and the respite care fund.)

Forty-five pre-registered for tomorrow's rowing and paddling race to benefit Volunteer Hospice of Clallam County...and we're still receiving inquiries. Saturday's the kick-off for our benefit races for Volunteer Hospice of Clallam County! Come to John Wayne Marina at 9 to see rowers and paddlers take off on their 5K down-and-back. Or come earlier to register yourself---in a shell, kayak, SUP, canoe, rowboat, whatever! (We open day-of registration at 6:30 a.m.) All registration fees---$30 if you preregister before noon on Friday (https://www.webscorer.com/register?raceid=426356), $60 if you register manually on Saturday morning---are a donation to VHOCC. Got an oar? Got a paddle? Register now for SBYC's Sept. 19 benefit race for Volunteer Hospice of Clallam County! So far we have rowing shells, a wherry, rowboats and kayaks. All we need now is YOU!
