**5-15-25 - MARINE UNIT POST - WATER SAFETY DAY**
Water activities can be a blast—but safety should always come first! 🌊 On Water Safety Day, remember: even strong swimmers need to take precautions. Always wear a life jacket and be cautious of cold water temperatures.
If someone’s in trouble, don’t jump in after them—stay safe and help from a distance. Throw a life preserver or use something they can grab onto. Let’s all do our part to keep the fun safe this season! 💙🛟

Meet Melissa Gatchet, owner of MG Safety, a full service Safety Consultation Company. Inspired by her father and a trusted mentor in the industry, Melissa gained the confidence to start and run her own business.
Integrity, hard work, staying focused on her goals, and being a mentor to others has helped her success. While there have been challenges along the way, Melissa says, aside from her children, increasing safety awareness and helping people avoid injury at work or home motivates her to do her best.
Melissa has been consulting with Contrack Watts for over 10 years and we are proud to showcase her and her company in this Small Business Spotlight!

An Iron worker that had been in the trade 50 years once told me losing his hearing was his biggest loss from his work....... I always say "use it or lose it" (hearing protection)
An average person spends a third of their life at work. If you work in the music industry, that means much of your life is spent around loud sounds. Occupational noise-induced hearing loss is one of the most common work-related illnesses in the United States. Protect your hearing at work on World Hearing Day and every day. Even if we don't get a whole lot of snow in lowland areas, it's going to be cold in the coming days. Now is the time to ensure vulnerable populations know where warming centers are located (Check with your city or county) & take steps to make sure you're prepared.
The wind chill could make it colder. Anywhere there will be moisture on the ground, absolutely expect ice on the roads especially side roads that don't get treatment.
This is a good day to check the traction on your tires & winterize exposed pipes.

Warmer temperatures expected over the next few days. Colder temperatures are forecast for the Holiday weekend and into early next week, and with any moisture present means lowland snow is a possibility, but how much and where are uncertain at this time.
If planning to drive this weekend, be prepared!
