Lost files from Costa Rica! 🇨🇷

Unfortunately, this wasn’t the rooster I was chasing but after multiple needlefish and mackerel bites, I was stoked to get something that ripped drag! For the record, pulling fish off a teaser proved to be much more difficult than I anticipated!

Such an incredible experience with the Columbia PFG team… one I won’t soon forget!

This weekend I experienced my first hurricane as a homeowner… our house took a beating but the three of us are just fine. The water was so high in our neighborhood there was no amount of sandbags that would stop it. Watching water creep in through the baseboards at an alarming rate was wild. But the scariest thing was watching the wood on this awning flex with every gust until it finally collapsed. It was a long weekend and the work for us is just beginning.

I would be remised if I didn’t call out how fast this town rallied to get power back on and businesses back running. We lost power for 22 hours. Back in the day you were lucky to get it on in 3 days. Some businesses were up and going the next day and plenty open by Sunday. The efforts to get the town in a stable place was impressive. HUGE shoutout to the linemen and first responders that went to work right away!

That being said, there are plenty of businesses and homes that weren’t so lucky, my prayers and thoughts are out to all those who just got their world shook.

I love these moments my girl is confident enough to do it all by herself. Proud mom moments, there is truly nothing like spending time with your kiddo who shares a love for your passion! Gripping on to these days tight!

Still reminiscing on this tank! Thought I’d include a few clips that didn’t make the edit! You know the polished version...

Still reminiscing on this tank! Thought I’d include a few clips that didn’t make the edit! You know the polished version makes it seem like a piece of cake! Thanks for all the love, not sure how we will top this one but I can guarantee we will keep trying!

What a day! If you fish enough, you’re bound to get rewarded with fish and moments that you remember for the rest of your life. This weekend me and my daughter were blessed with one of those moments! My daughter caught an absolute TANK of a redfish! I’ve held a lot of big reds and dare I say this was the biggest! Looking back at the picture and where she lands on the deck, she was all of 45” with an unpinched tail. I personally think she was all of 50” but since I didn’t get a true tape, I’ll be modest!

Anyone have a hookup on fish mounts? This most definitely has to be a Christmas present this year!

Portland owes me nothing! From hiking to w**e tasting in the vineyards, this place has it all! The friendliest of folks, delicious food, support for women sports, and employee stores! Our time was well spent, the city was chill and had vibes I wasn’t expecting, the drivers were nice and the sunsets were epic.

I was thoroughly impressed by Portland and will be back… in the summer and on a particularly sunny weekend like this one! John
