SHS Teacher Feature of the Week: Andrew McCune! Mr. McCune has been in education for 10 years; all with SPS! Mr. McCune teaches Government, Military History, and serves as the Head Coach for Shawnee Wrestling. He is no stranger to service, as he is a decorated Marine Corps veteran. 🇺🇸 We are honored to work with Coach McCune and very proud to recognize him this week! 👏

Favorite part of teaching: Making positive impacts from life experience. 👍

Fun fact/hidden talent about yourself: He married his high school sweetheart in 2005, who also teaches for SPS! ❤️

Advice to students - Always choose the hard right over the easier wrong, and if you want to change the world start by changing the culture. 💯

Abbi Frentz and Lorenz Krause got the Goat Chains today!!

Abbi is one of the best teammates ever - good or bad days, we can always count on her to be in our corner! We're so lucky to have Abbi's heart and energy lead our team! She PR'd by 35 seconds at Guthrie on Friday👏🏼

Lorenz is new to our cross country team this year, but is already making a huge impact! He's fighting for a varsity spot, pushing himself and his teammates, and is always working hard! He also PR'd by almost 2 minutes at Guthrie🤘🏼

our next two Goat Chain recipients are Bella Larney and Isaiah Mehagan! these two both put in the WORK all summer and every day for themselves and our team. their hard work paid off at our first 5k last week at Carl Albert where they both set ALL-TIME personal records!🤩

Bella set a new PR by 2:30 minutes and Isiah by 3:30 minutes!!! first meet of the year and the Wolves are already showing out🤘🏼

WE ARE SO BACK!!!🐐⛓️

our first Goat Chain Monday recipients yesterday were Darrius Irving and Madi Suttle!

Darrius showed his commitment all summer long, showing up to summer pride and running with teammates every day! his hard work paid off when he finished in the Top 30 and 5th on our team at Southeast on Saturday!

Madi also worked hard all summer - showing up to summer pride and splitting her time with volleyball and cross country! Madi started the race on Saturday in the top 10 and never let up, finishing with a medal in 8th place!
