π₯ KINTSUGI: STRENGTH IN THE SCARS π₯
In Japanese culture, kintsugi is the art of repairing broken pottery with lacquer and gold, embracing the cracks rather than hiding them. For a martial artist, this can be a powerful reminder that our mistakes, setbacks, failures, and struggles do not diminish us, but rather become part of our story and make us stronger.
In training, we will miss techniques, struggle with a new skill, lose a match, or sometimes fall short of our goals. The important thing is not to remain broken or discouraged, but to learn, repair, adapt, and continue forward. Our challenges become part of what makes us who we are.
Donβt be ashamed of your cracks. They are evidence that you have been tested - and that you chose to keep going! π₯πͺ
