The Tenets of Taekwondo are values we are expected to live by.
Courtesy.
Integrity.
Perseverance.
Self Control.
Indomitable Spirit.
We practice them when we bow onto the mat, respect our instructors and training partners, push through a difficult class, control our emotions, and refuse to give up.
But they shouldn’t stay inside the dojo.
They show up in how we treat our families, how we behave at school and work, how we respond when things don’t go our way, and how we treat people when no one is watching.
Martial arts is about more than learning how to fight. It is about developing the character to know when not to.
Which tenet speaks to you the most, and why?
