Simon was making a bunch of loud contact today. He was also all over the field. Pretty sure he played every position available. Also while playing at the pitcher spot, he took a hot shot off the forehead. Shook it off. Took a couple of minutes to compose himself and stayed in. What an animal. Way to step up for the team.

TED JONES | MONMOUTH COLLEGE

From competing with Central Illinois Elite to an outstanding senior season at Meridian High School (Macon), former CI Elite player Ted Jones is ready to take the next step in his baseball career as he heads to Monmouth College.

Ted capped off his high school career with an impressive senior season for the Hawks, batting .446 with a .580 OBP and .631 slugging percentage. He collected 29 hits, 22 RBIs, 20 runs, 4 doubles, 1 triple and 2 home runs, while also showing his athleticism on the bases with 15 stolen bases.

⚾ IMPACT BEHIND THE PLATE — Ted’s unmatched blocking ability prevented countless extra bases and runs, while his leadership, knowledge of the game and daily impact made him irreplaceable behind the plate. He served as a coach on the field by calling pitches, directing the defense, implementing situational plays and mentoring younger hitters. Ted also led Meridian with 15 stolen bases and posted a team-best .980 fielding percentage, demonstrating the all-around game that helped earn him an opportunity to continue his baseball career at the next level.

⚾ RECOGNIZED AMONG THE STATE'S BEST — Ted's performance earned him IHSBCA All-State Honorable Mention recognition along with a unanimous First Team CIC All-Conference selection and several other honors — a fitting conclusion to an outstanding high school career.

⚾ THE NEXT CHAPTER — MONMOUTH COLLEGE — After years of competing with CI Elite and a standout career at Meridian, Ted now gets the opportunity to take his game to college baseball at Monmouth College.

A .446 average, .580 OBP, 22 RBI and 15 stolen bases, combined with All-State and unanimous First Team All-Conference recognition, is a great way to close out a high school career — but for Ted, it's also the beginning of something new.

Brazen Carman was awarded MVP for the day. He went 4 for 6 and scored 4 times, but he was awarded this more for his defensive efforts. He made a few outstanding plays that saved a lot of runs and killed their momentum. Congratulations Brazen!!!!
