Jill Chase teaches classes in ballet, jazz, pointe, tap, lyrical, contemporary, liturgical, creative movement, and children's work for both girls and boys.
Jill Chase owns and operates, “Jill Chase Dance Studio” in the Huntington area of Shelton, Connecticut since 1977. Jill is a certified dance educator with a Certified Master’s in Dance Direction. She is an alumnus of the famous Jacob’s Pillow in Lee, Massachusetts and a former company member of the Ballet Society of Connecticut. Jill, as an adult, studied dance extensively for fourteen years with
world known masters in New York City. Jill teaches, ballet, pointe, tap, jazz, lyrical, musical theater, liturgical, creative dance, and ballroom. Jill Chase is a nationally recognized master teacher, judge and National Certified Dance Examiner for Dance Masters of America. She recently returned from Baltimore where she served as a judge for DMA’s Chapter #17. Her son, Eric, has a Bachelor of Fine Arts degree in dance. Eric danced professionally with the Aspen Santa Fe Ballet Company (contemporary jazz), Milwaukee Ballet Company, and Hubbard Street Dance (jazz). Other students performed with the national touring companies of “Grease”, “Evita”, “West Side Story”, and “Seussical” and the company of the Festival Ballet Providence. She has dancers with the Royal Caribbean Cruise Lines and many dance majors within various colleges. Summer programs include the American Academy of Ballet, New Haven Ballet, and the Joffrey Ballet. Jill has won choreography awards plus her students have won many Titles at competitions including Teen Miss Dance of CT, Teen Mr. Dance of CT, Mr. Dance of CT, and Mr. Dance of New England, Teen Miss Dance of Turn It Up. Jill Chase currently serves as, Director of the Sacred Dance Choirs for the Huntington Congregational Church, Board member of the Shelton Youth Bureau Advisory Board, on faculty for the Dance Masters Teachers Training School at the University of Buffalo, Past Principal of the Teachers Training School of Dance Masters of America, Past President of the Connecticut Dance Alliance, Past President of Dance Masters Chapter #18 and #26 and Past National President for Dance Masters of America. Jill has taught dance for fifty years and operated her own dance studio for the past thirty-six years. Jill’s pride and joy is her family, 43 years married to Merle, daughter Julie, granddaughter, Samantha (11), grandson, Chase (2), son, Eric, and daughter-in-law, Shannon.
