🚜✨ Out with the old… and in with the new!
After many years of faithful service, our trusty old tractor is officially handing over the keys to a brand-new Kubota. As anyone who has spent time around the range knows, equipment like this plays a huge role in maintaining our facilities, improving our ranges, and supporting the events and programs our members enjoy.
This purchase wouldn’t have been possible without the support of our members, volunteers, donors, and everyone who contributes their time, talent, and resources to SCSA.
And a HUGE thank you to Tracy Landeis, our SCSA Trap Director and Ryan Rankin at Kubota for their investment of time, energy and patience to work out the best deal for us!
💚 Thank you for investing in the future of the Sheridan County Sportsmen’s Association.
The new tractor will help us maintain the property more efficiently, tackle improvement projects, and keep the range in great shape for years to come.
Now the real question is… who gets to drive it first? 😎

🔥 FIRE SAFETY UPDATE FOR SCSA MEMBERS 🔥
Impact possible: Friday, May 29 and Saturday, May 30
As we move into the summer months, fire prevention is becoming increasingly important at the range.
Effective immediately, SCSA may temporarily remove steel targets and close portions of the range during Red Flag Warning conditions or periods of extreme fire danger.
Hot, dry, and windy weather significantly increases the risk of wildfire. While these temporary restrictions may be inconvenient, they are one of the most effective steps we can take to protect our range, neighboring properties, and surrounding public lands.
This week, Friday (May 29) and Saturday (May 30) are forecast to bring elevated fire danger. Depending on conditions, steel targets on Range 1 and Range 2 may be removed, and portions of the Long Range facility may be closed.
We appreciate your patience and understanding as we implement this safety protocol.
A reminder: Fire prevention is everyone's responsibility. Please stay aware of current conditions, follow all range rules, and help us protect the facility we all enjoy.

If “I’d like to learn to shoot” has been on your list, don’t miss these opportunities!
Our 2026 season has begun and you’ll find us down at the pistol pits every Thursday evening starting at 5:45 PM.
The SCSA Women’s Director, Sam Bretthauer is offering guidance, instruction, safety awareness and target practice for all ladies and beginners in the Sheridan County area.
Bring your own firearm or use ours for only $10. Ammo included in that price.
Open to the public and the SCSA members.

If you thought something looked a little different around the archery range parking lot at Sheridan County Sportsmen’s Association, you’re not wrong!
As part of our annual volunteer day, many hands contributed to move the storage unit closer to the range. This freed up space in the parking lot and keeps things running smoothly.
Thanks again to all of our members who helped!
Our volunteer day was a huge success!
