It is officially recital week, eek!! Mark those calendars for THIS Friday and Saturday (May 29th & 30th, 6:00 & 8:00 nightly) at the WYO Theater. With two shows nightly, you’re sure to find a showtime that works for you. Our 6pm show features mostly younger dancers, whereas our 8pm show features our older dancers. ✨Senior Spotlight✨ - Gabby Springsteen

After graduation I will be going to Sheridan College for Early Childhood Education where I will become a preschool teacher. I will miss going to dance class with my friends and I will miss Jenn and Donna. Dance made me become friends with so many people and we all take care of each other. I have been dancing since I was four, my first dances were tap and ballet and I loved it! Dance will forever be a big part of my life and I will miss everyone at the studio!

✨Senior Spotlight✨ - Joee Kahm

I can’t believe my time here as a student is coming to a close. After graduation I am going to attend Sheridan College as a dance major and get a certificate in business along side my degree.
I’m so grateful for every moment I got to spend in the studio and I’m so excited to see what comes next. To the students after me I give you this advice: enjoy every performance and dance like it’s your last time. One day it will be. Though I have many performances to come, I will never be on stage with the same people again and I will cherish the time I got with the people here forvever

✨Senior Spotlight✨ - Alivia Denzin

After graduation, I plan to attend the University of Alabama to study nursing. While I’m excited for this new season of my life, I don’t think I’ll ever be quite ready to say goodbye to DDA. I’ve spent most of my evenings at the studio since I was three years old, creating countless memories, learning valuable lessons, and building lasting friendships.

Dance, and this studio in particular, have shaped me into the person I am today and prepared me for adulthood. I couldn’t have chosen a better group of people or a better place to grow up. Donna has been like a second mother to me, a person to confide in and a best friend. She truly cares deeply about each and every one of us, pouring her heart into our dance careers and our lives. The girls on my team have been like sisters, inspirations, and the only ones who could make me laugh on my worst days. Thank you, DDA, for the past 15 years. I’m the luckiest girl in the world to have called this studio my home.

✨Senior Spotlight✨ - Aslynn Maurer

After graduation I plan on attending Weber State University to pursue radiation therapy. While I’m excited for what’s next, it’s hard to put into words what dance and this studio have meant to me over the years. Dance has always been more than just an activity to me — it has been my second home, my safe place, and somewhere I could escape reality no matter what was going on outside of those walls. Some of my favorite memories and biggest life lessons came from this studio.

I’ve spent countless hours here growing not only as a dancer, but as a person. From laughing during rehearsals, to stressful competition weekends, to the moments where we all just sat and talked about life, these are memories I will carry with me forever. There was never a day I walked into the studio without someone making me smile. The people here became family, and that’s something I will always be grateful for.

Growing up, I looked up to the older dancers and dreamed of being in their place one day. Now that I’m graduating, I hope I’ve been able to inspire younger dancers the same way others inspired me. Dance taught me confidence, discipline, passion, and how important it is to keep going even when things get hard.

To the younger dancers, enjoy every second because it truly goes by so fast. Don’t be afraid to push yourself, believe in yourself, and chase the things that make you happy.

Most importantly, thank you to my teachers, teammates, and everyone who helped make this studio feel like home. Thank you for believing in me, supporting me, and giving me a place where I could always be myself. No matter where life takes me next, dance will always be a part of who I am.
