How many of you guys have tried sewing your own footbags?

After sewing footbags for more than four decades, one thing I’ve noticed is that the craft teaches you more than just stitching.

When you spend time cutting panels, managing tension, fixing mistakes, and trying to get symmetry right, your hands start training your mind. Your spatial sense improves. Your patience improves. Even your creativity gets sharper because you’re constantly solving small problems.

It’s one of the reasons I still enjoy making bags after all these years. The process never stops teaching you things.

A while back we put together a footbag stitching course to pass on everything I’ve learned about materials, fillers, and construction. If you’ve ever wanted to learn how to make your own bags—or improve your stitching—it might be useful.
