Bids for connection are attempts from one partner to another for attention, affirmation, connection, and/or affection
It can be as simple as “hey, look at this TikTok” as you flip your phone to show them. This is a bid for connection. You are attempting to get their attention.
Your partner may then respond in different ways, primarily those 3 in the post.
Sometimes consciously and sometimes unconsciously because it’s been a pattern that we don’t even notice that we are doing it.

The relationship you have with yourself is probably one of the hardest relationships to work on but also very important! 🌻
I believe that when and while you work on yourself, you are also working on your romantic relationships (the one you are in now or the one your are preparing yourself for)

Quality time is the love language where putting your phone down has the most meaning.
▫️Have you ever been spending time with someone and majority of the time you are on your phone or distracted. Then they say something along the lines of “we don’t spend much time together”
▫️Well it might be that you are there with them but not fully present. Quality time is less about the activity and more about the connection and giving your undivided attention to the other person.
That is why sometimes it is helpful to plan for these moments, when the distractions will be minimal.
