🇺🇸 A LITTLE ABOUT THE MAN BEHIND KB MAINTENANCE
For those who don’t know me personally — and even for some of our amazing clients who I’ve never had the opportunity to meet face-to-face — I wanted to take a minute and introduce myself and share a little bit about who I am, where I came from, and how KB Maintenance became what it is today.
My name is Kyle Barnes, owner of KB Maintenance, LLC.
I’m a dedicated husband, father, and business owner. This October marks 8 years total in business, and when I look back at where I started compared to where we are today, I’m extremely grateful for the journey.
My motto has always been:
“Bringing back Southern hospitality, one client at a time.”
I was raised in Virginia Beach, Virginia, and moved to North Carolina when I was 24.
I’ve always been someone who learns best by getting my hands dirty and figuring things out firsthand. Over the years, I’ve had the opportunity to gain experience in a lot of different trades and industries.
From around 16 to 20 years old, I spent a lot of time doing construction work. I then spent three years in school as a commercial plumber before moving into residential plumbing.
From there, I worked in scaffolding and spent a lot of time at Norfolk Naval Shipyard.
I eventually became a restoration technician, then moved into HVAC installation. That led me to earning my EPA certification and becoming an HVAC technician.
And ultimately, all of those experiences and lessons helped lead me to taking the biggest step of my career — opening my own business in October 2018.
Almost 8 years later… here we are.
Today, KB Maintenance provides:

But for me, this business is about more than cutting grass or getting a property cleaned up.
I’m married to an amazing woman who has stuck with me through this entire journey and together we have two wonderful boys.
One of my biggest goals for this business is to build something that my boys can learn from, grow with, and eventually take in whatever direction they choose.
Whether they decide to work alongside me, take over the business someday, or use what they learn here to build something completely different — I want them to have that opportunity.
This business has been built through hard work, long days, mistakes, lessons learned, sacrifices, and a whole lot of determination.
And I wouldn’t be here without the people who have supported me along the way.
