Central Alabama Gun Club

Central Alabama Gun Club CAGC is a member-owned private club located roughly 14 miles east of Montgomery, near Shorter, AL. Memberships are available.

You do not have to be a member to participate in shooting matches at the range. Please check our website for details. Facilities include 12 pistol bays, 100 & 300 yard rifle ranges, a 5 stand shotgun range, a falling plate pistol bay, an archery range and an air conditioned clubhouse with 4 restrooms (M&F). The .22LR precision match is this Saturday the 29th at the 100 yard range. Gate opens at 8:30 and shooting starts at 10:00 after a brief shooters meeting. This is a “cold” range so put the rifle on your shooters table and don’t mess with it until instructed. We will have time to do that before we begin. Shooting paper at 40,60,80, and 100 yards. CAGC: STEEL CHALLENGE: 8/8/26
Just letting everyone know that registration is open for the upcoming Steel Challenge match at CAGC this coming Saturday (8/8). You can register here through Practiscore:

I'm sure the weather will be warm and there is a small chance of rain, but we're going to do everything possible to have a match this month. All I ask is that we have at least two full squads of shooters (20 guns). So please register if you've not already done so.

Also, we can use some help setting up on the Friday afternoon before the match (generally we start around 2:00pm). For anyone who puts in the effort to help set up, the entry fee for your first gun will be FREE.

Finally, just so everyone knows, we will NOT have a match in September. We will, however, resume matches in October, when the weather will hopefully be tolerable again.

I hope to see many of you at the match on Saturday!

GATE: Gate fried out two months ago. We repaired the electronics and ported the user data to the new system. Apparently some cards may have been missed. IF YOUR CARD DOES NOT WORK, TEXT ME, BOB @ 402-968-4433 WHILE AT THE GATE. I will call you back ASAP. (I had to lock my phone down to outside numbers due to the number of spam calls I was getting.) I will need the number on your card to communicate with Joe and get you back into the system. Plus, I have a temporary solution to get you in and out.

New Match: The first match...3rd weekend in Jan-17-2026 ** NOTE TIME CHANGE**

Benchrest Rimfire match starts 3rd Saturday of every month. Weather permitting. Match could be call off for rain or extreme cold or rain. Winter schedule...Show Time 9:00AM Match starts at 10:00. Summer is one hour earlier starting when it gets hot and back to Winter schedule November to December.
We'll shoot 60 rounds at 50 yards at one target. 12 bullseye...5 rounds each. 4 top, 4 in the middle, and 4 across the bottom.... unlimited sighters. 40 rounds at 100 yards one target. 4 bullseyes ...2 on the top and 2 on the bottom. 10 shots each. Unlimited sighters. 22lr only. So far I've never had a issue with time! At some point we may vote on a time allowance for each match. I'll have scoring overlays so each can score their own target.
Any shooters that have their own stand... please brings. I'll get with David and figure out how many more we'll need.

The steel pit between pits 5&6 is CLOSED for renovations. There are plate racks in pits 10 and 11 for your shooting pleasure. REMEMBER THE TEN YARD MINIMUM DISTANCE.
