Hello all Stockholders! Just a quick update to let you know the status of your proceeds from the sale. We are still waiting to hear from the IRS on 2014 payroll tax due. Once all the bills are paid you will receive your portion of the sale. Please be patient it could take a few more months to straighten everything out. We are pleased to announce that the North Shreveport Swim Club is officially sold! It is now owned by Terri's Swim Academy. We wish them the best of luck and encourage everyone to become a member of Terri's. They have great things planned for this wonderful piece of property!

Hello Everyone! We are happy to announce that the pool is under contract to sale to Terri Robertson. It will operate as a pool under the name of Terri's Swim Academy. Dear Stockholders and Members,
I wanted to take a moment and thank those that have helped us over the past four years at NSSC. Katy and I tried desperately to keep NSSC open for our community and area children. Due to pool component breakdowns and current membership levels, we could no longer keep it open. There was a vote taken at the stockholder meeting this past Saturday to close and sell the pool. There was a vote to also place Patsy Camp in charge of this process..
The pool closing was a long time coming. It has been in danger of closing or coming close almost every year for the past decade. This was not the result of just this past year’s obstacles and break downs. We unfortunately happen to be the ones in charge at its closing. We took over the pool to save it from closing back in 2010. If we had not taken it over then, it would have closed. Even in 2010 it was barely sustainable from year-to-year and was in desperate need of improvements. The pool has needed renovations for decades and finally all of the wear has made it impossible for a patch or quick fix. The filter system is gone and the pool tile/edge is in such bad state of decay it will need a complete renovation. The list goes on and on. These issues along with yearly declining memberships make the pool unsustainable. Katy and I even had to pay some utilities and out of our pockets because the pool did not have the funds.
We had under 50 memberships last year where it has been around 80-100. We need 80 just to break even on the season!!
There has been a lack of interest and support for years. In fact, the last two annual stockholder meetings there were only Katy and I in attendance.
My opinion is that nobody really cared, until someone said “Closing” or “Selling”. Suddenly, people are stepping up, coming to meetings and are involved. I’ll let you make any conclusions or infer whatever you want.
Katy and I have stepped down and I will direct anyone needing information on the pool, stockholder status, or the sale to contact Patsy Camp.
I just wanted to make it clear to those asking. This is all about the dilapidated state of the pool along with dwindling memberships. It can't sustain itself any longer. This is why the pool is closed and will be sold.

Members, The pool will remain closed for the last 3 days of operation. We have been working on a problem with the pump and apologize for this unfortunate closing.

Here is a reminder for everyone that North Shreveport Swim Club is now closed during the week starting today. We will be open normal hours on Saturdays and Sundays for the next 4 weekends and our last day for the season is Monday Sept. 7 Labor Day. Swim with us on the weekends!
