D1 PREP/DEVO CLASS 💯
We are going to take you through a FULL max velocity and lower body session for our middle and high school athletes!
Slide 1 - warm up (10 minutes): in this section we focus on preparing the body for the training ahead, dynamic stretches paired with specific technique work to maximize training quality!
Slide 2 - movement prep (5 minutes) in conjunction to the warm up, we train specific techniques we are focused on for the day. This particular day is max velocity, so we're focusing on producing maximal force as quickly as possible!
Slide 3 - Performance section (15 minutes): In this slide we are executing flying 10s, in other words trying to reach max velocity in a 40 yard distance. We are tracking their runs in miles per hour using our laser systems. The athletes are doing 2-3 reps before the law of diminishing returns takes place.
Slide 4 - strength movement prep (5 minutes): in this slide we are going over corrective and prep movements for our main lift, which is back squat.
Slide 5 - 4x2 back squats, working to a 4 rep max on our last set! (In season athletes are doing 3x5 do reduce fatigue and prevent injury)
Slide 6 - 4x3 approach box jump, continuing our focus for the day which is max velocity, we pair the box jump with a heavy loaded back squat to emphasize increased force production.
Slide 6 - accessories, we aim to use accessory exercises to compliment our athletes needs, which are usually hip mobility, flexibility, and stability on lower body days.
