Ever wonder what "calibrated" actually means?

Here's the answer in pocket change. Two US nickels weigh precisely 10 grams — and that's the maximum a 25kg competition plate is permitted to deviate from its stated weight. About 0.04%.

Standard bumper plates often run ±1% or more. On a 25kg plate, that's up to 250 grams of drift per plate — and it stacks. Six plates on the bar and you could be off by a kilo and a half without knowing it.

Competition plates close that gap. Same load in training as on the platform, every session.

Two nickels of doubt. That's it.

Most lifters don't need a deadlift bar.
