Another proud showing by your CBA archers at the ALAS Bullseye State Championship and the 2026 ALAS 3D indoor challenge. A lot of first year shooters shook off some "big tournament " nerves and posted great scores this past weekend in Alexandria.
For the Bullseye tournament some of our top archers included:
Jewel Blakey 8th for all high school
Lizzy Cantrell 4th for all 10th grade
Jase Caraway 7th for all 7th grade ( and showed some amazing composure after having his arrow rest break in the middle of his round and still posting a strong score with new equipment)
Re*****on McGill 5th for all 9th grade
Colton McPhearson 7th for 11th grade
Landry Blakey 6th for 6th grade
Collin Sharp 9th for 12th grade
Chloe McPhearson 3rd for 4th grade
Personal bests were shot by

On the 3D challenge front
Ms Isabella Stokes went off and won 1st place for all middle school girls!
Colton McPhearson 9th for high school
Re*****on McGill 5th for 9th grade
Brodee Anderson 5th for 10th grade
Jase Caraway 9th for 7th grade
Camille Terrell 7th for 7th grade
In addition Jewel Blakey and Chloe McPhearson each won 250$ college scholarships.
Not to toot his own horn but Coach Dale also showed some marksmanship finishing 3rd in the coaches Bullseye challenge and 2nd in the coaches indoor 3d challenge.
This year the coaches got to shoot alongside the kids for thier tournament. I asked a couple of the parents to take pics if the kids as they competed. And what was captured by several pics was me sharing smiles and laughs with the kids. I cannot express how awesome an opportunity this has been to be a part of coaching here at CBA. Watching these kids compete and grow as competitors and young men and women is an experience that I and hopefully they will never forget!
Looking forward to next year! !

What an awesome showing by our Calvary Baptist Academy archery teams at the ALAS 3D state championship in Alexandria Louisiana.
This weekend our CBA archers continued to set school records this time by having top 5 finishes in all 3 age groups! (High School, Middle School and Elementary). These team scores also allowed them to be qualified to shoot at Eastern Nationals in Louisville Kentucky in April!
Individually we had some amazing scores posted including an Elementary runner up finish by our very own Landry Blakey. Landry tied for first by missed out on being state champion by 1 tie-breaker point.
CBA also had national qualifiers on the Individual side of things:
(top 10 in each division) .
Collin Sharp
Jewel Blakey
Jack Springer
Nash Thompson
Josie Whitard
Landry Blakey
Some more individual top finishers include
Jewel Blakey 1st 9th grade girl and 4th High School girl

Great start to our 2025 ALAS-Archery in Louisiana Schools 3D state championship. Right now our Middle School team is sitting first in the State with a lot of our archers left. Elementary and High School kids did exactly what they needed to do tonight. There are still ALOT of really good teams left to shoot, but I like our chances to bring home some state hardware. Rest up for tomorrow Cavs and let's bring home some hardware!!!

If you see one of our CBA archers today tell them good luck and pray for stable form and a steady aim as we had to Alexandria for our ALAS-Archery in Louisiana Schools 3D State Championship. CBA archers have a chance at bringing home team trophies in Elementary, Middle, and High School. I also anticipate several individual places as well. Good luck to all our archers and we'll see you in Alex.
