Pose of the month is: Dead Bug (Stambhasana)

How to:
* Set up on your back: Lie flat on your yoga mat in
a neutral position.
* Press your lower back into the mat: Exhale and
engage your core to flatten your lower back
against the floor, ensuring there is no arch or gap
between your spine and the mat.
* Lift your limbs: Inhale and lift both legs up
toward the ceiling (keeping them straight or with
a soft bend). Raise both arms straight up over
your shoulders, keeping them parallel to each
other with palms facing in.
* Hold the base pose: Keep your shoulders
grounded and your core tight, pressing your
lower back into the earth. Hold here and breathe
deeply for 5 to 10 breaths.

Counterposes:
* Cobra Pose (Bhujangasana)
* Bridge Pose (Setu Bandhasana)
* Supine Spinal Twist Pose (Supta Matsyendrasana)

Benefits:
* Targets the transverse abdominis, the deepest
abdominal layer, which helps flatten the stomach
and stabilize your spine.
* Trains your body to keep your lower back
pressed securely to the floor, reducing lower
back strain.
* Counteracts the stiffness in the hips caused by
prolonged sitting.
* When performed statically with slow, deep
breathing, it can help calm and restore the
central nervous system.

Our YoGiNi Of ThE mOnTh is Frankie! 🎊👏🙌🏻😄✨

Frank has been a member of the Bloom community and practicing at the studio since 2015. Wow—eleven years! Her consistency, warm spirit, and genuine kindness have made her a familiar and cherished part of our community. Whether she's arriving for class, catching up with fellow yogis, or quietly settling onto her mat, Frankie brings a welcoming presence wherever she goes.

When we asked Frankie what her favorite thing about Bloom is, she replied, "The people and the space! Bloom is a peaceful space that has helped nurture my bond with others. It is a place you want to keep returning to day after day."

It's easy to see why Frankie feels so connected to the studio. Over the years, she has built meaningful friendships and found a sense of belonging that keeps her coming back. Her dedication is a beautiful reminder that yoga is about more than movement—it's also about community.

Frankie's favorite classes are Gentle Yoga with Rachael and Emily, "I am a creature of habit, for sure, and those classes seem to be what I need for my body, mind and spirit!"

Like many of us, Frankie has learned to listen to what her body needs, and she has found a practice that supports her through every season.

Frankie has prioritized yoga in her daily life, saying, "In this season of life I am trying to stay active. My yoga practice is one of the ways that has helped my flexibility and range of motion. It also reminds me to just breathe on some days."

Fun Fact: If Frankie could have any superpower, it would be to teleport to Houston, TX to spend more time with her daughter and grandchildren.

We are so grateful for the steady presence Frankie has been at Bloom over the past eleven years. Her commitment to her practice, appreciation for community, and gentle kindness inspire those around her. Frankie, thank you for being such an important part of our Bloom family—we are grateful to share this journey with you.

Our Instructor Spotlight is Stephanie! 💫🙌🏻👏🎊

When Stephanie entered the Exhale Room at Breathe Yoga in March of 2018, she had absolutely no idea how that beautiful space would change the trajectory of her life. What she did know was that the space “just felt like home.” Through all the ups and downs—and many hard-learned lessons—she says she wouldn’t change a single thing. “Everything happened exactly like it should to arrive where we are today, and the place we are in is nothing short of inspirational.”

Stephanie has been teaching yoga since 2015 and feels like she is always discovering something new that adds depth to her approach. When she’s not at Bloom, she is in her 25th year of teaching high school students. “Since I was little, I remember feeling called to teach. I find it truly rewarding.” Teaching yoga, she says, carries a different kind of meaning. “I have the opportunity to witness transformation in each student’s journey, and that is something I never take for granted.”

When asked about her favorite style of yoga, Stephanie shared that it often changes depending on what she needs most. “I’m really loving our heated classes right now, especially the 26&2. I never thought I would connect with a hatha practice in this way, but it’s really resonating with me—probably because we have such incredible instructors.”

What continues to inspire Stephanie most is the Bloom community. She speaks often about the energy in the rooms, and creating a space that feels both grounding and uplifting. “There is something really special about what we’ve built. It’s more than just a place to practice, it’s a place to belong.”

As both a teacher and owner, Stephanie’s intention has always been to create a space where people feel seen, supported, and welcome exactly as they are. Whether someone is stepping onto their mat for the first time or has been practicing for years, she hopes each person leaves feeling just a little more connected, to themselves and to something bigger.

Outside of the studio, Stephanie enjoys time with her family, traveling, and continuing to learn and grow—both as a teacher and as a student. When asked what she hopes students feel when they walk through the doors of Bloom, her answer is simple: “That they’re home.”

A little more about Stephanie
What brings you back to your mat: "Life! My mat has been one of the most consistent things in my life over the past 15 years. It's always ready when I am. It gives me the same feeling I get when I walk into my childhood home. It is one of my favorite safe places."

When in life do you feel like you bloom: "When I rebranded Breathe Yoga to Bloom. All the things I've had to learn on this journey and showing myself that I can do hard things. Finding a way to balance my career, family and passion for a meaningful and genuine yoga community while also learning to let down some of my walls and depend on others has been life changing. "

What is your favorite thing about Bloom Yoga Studio: "Community is very important to me wherever I go, but the Bloom community is stellar. I have never felt this loved and supported (outside my family). I am beyond grateful and just plain proud everytime I watch this very special, growing group of people come together to love or help another human or cause."

Reiki Restore with Kristy and Jamie on June 5th from 6:00-7:30 p.m..

Be your own special light. 💫🕯

Reiki is an ancient Japanese healing technique which focuses on bringing balance to the chakras or energy centers of the body. Energy can stagnate in the body where there has been physical injury or even emotional pain. In time, these energy blocks may cause illness or “dis”ease.

Using gentle touch and hand movements, Kristy and Jamie will guide the flow of healthy energy through the body to open and balance the chakras. Improving the flow of energy around the body can enable relaxation, reduce pain, speed healing, and also help fight fatigue. Experience 90 minutes of self-love with the healing combination of restorative yoga poses and reiki. Kristy is a certified Reiki Master and Jamie is Level 2 Reiki Healer.

💜 Self-love is the source from which we love others.

Reserve your spot now on Mindbody app! It's $35/person.
