•Basic Handgun is on Saturday February 14th from 8am-12pm.. Cost is $100 per student.. This is a course that will assist in building confidence in your abilities as a beginner or for the shooting enthusiast eager to learn the current training methods.. Either way this course builds a solid foundation for shooters of all levels.. Our instructors will cover safety, types of pistols, maintenance, operation, and proper shooting positions.. Coupled with smaller class sizes allowing for more individual attention with instructors to ensure participants get the most out of their training.. Students need to bring a minimum of 50 rounds of ammunition, a handgun, plus eye and ear protection.. Participants who do not own a firearm may rent one of our demo handguns along with eye and ear protection.. Course graduates who are also interested in obtaining their Louisiana Concealed Handgun Permit are encouraged to sign up and attend our next available course date.. This course is scheduled for 3 hours of classroom learning and 1 hour of hands on range time..

•Intermediate Carbine 200 Class is on Sunday February 15th from 8a-2p.. Cost is $175 per student.. This course is designed to present new and unexpected challenges that shooters may face and how to take your skills to the next level. Instructors will train participants on threat identification, low/high ready positions, proper presentation, selector manipulation drills, precision shooting drills, magazine changes, and dominate/non-dominate hand drills. Introduction to engaging from stationary positions behind cover, engaging multiple threats, re-index of threats, clearing of malfunctions and threat engagements. Participants must have completed Carbine 100 or a course of equivalency (NRA Basic Rifle or another accredited course documentation). Students need to bring a minimum of 210 rounds of ammunition, at least 3 magazines, and a semi-automatic carbine with a one or two point sling. A belt mounted carbine magazine pouch, battle belt, or chest rig is required along with eye and ear protection. This course is scheduled for 6 hours with most of the course being held on the range training.

•RDS Fundamentals Class is on Saturday February 28th from 8am-3pm.. Cost is $200 per student.. RDS (Red Dot Sight) Fundamentals will be taught by a Modern Samurai Project Alumni instructor and will cover a multitude of topics specific to the handgun with a slide mounted red dot optic. Students will learn the proper techniques to efficiently draw and present the firearm to the target. We will cover specific benefits of the RDS handgun versus using traditional iron sights and the differences in the presentation of the handgun to the target without having to “fish” for the dot. We will cover topics such as zeroing the optic, the draw stroke, grip, RDS presentation/alignment to the target, and will be shooting at distances from 3 yards up to 25 yards and everything in between. Students will need to bring an RDS mounted handgun, a quality holster either OWB (outside waistband) or IWB (inside waistband) NO SERPA, NYLON, OR WORN LEATHER HOLSTERS!!! You will also need at least 3 magazines for your handgun (belt mounted magazine pouch recommended) and 300 rounds of ammunition and eye/ear protection (rentals are available) and as always an open mind for learning. RDS handgun rentals will be available at a first come first serve basis and will require ammo to be purchased from Red River Range.. We will take a 30 minute lunch at some point during the class so you can bring snacks or a lunch to hold you over..

•Louisiana Concealed Carry Permit Class is on Tuesday-Wednesday February 10th and 11th from 5pm-9:30pm both days, Saturday February 21st from 8am-5pm, and Sunday February 22nd from 8am-5pm.. Cost is $125 per student.. The Louisiana Concealed Handgun Permit Class is a 9 hour class will consist of the mandated curriculum from the State which is ammunition knowledge and fundamentals of pistol shooting, child access prevention, use of deadly force laws and conflict resolution, shooting positions, safe handling procedures of a revolver and semi-auto handgun, and live fire training for qualification.. Students will need to bring their firearm and at least 36 rounds of ammo.. Fi****ms will be available to rent and ammo to purchase..

Today is one of those bittersweet milestones.

From the very beginning of Red River Range, Stephanie has been part of our story. She walked in with zero experience in the firearm industry and an open mind—and from there, she built something truly impressive. Starting as a retail associate, she grew into our Retail Assistant Manager and NFA Compliance Assistant, taking on responsibility after responsibility with confidence and care.

Along the way, Stephanie became a trained fi****ms instructor, often stepping in to teach and support female shooters, helping make the range a more welcoming place for everyone. She also dove headfirst into competitive shooting, tackling both pistol and carbine with the same determination she brought to everything she did here.

We’re incredibly proud to say that Stephanie is leaving Red River Range to take the next step in her career with one of the biggest players in the firearm industry. While we’re excited for her and know she’s earned this opportunity, there’s no denying how much she’ll be missed—by our team, our members, and everyone who had the chance to work alongside her.

We are keeping an eye on the forecast for this weekend.

Friday - Plan on regular hours

Saturday - Game time decision based on amount and timing of incoming freezing precipitation. Ultimately the safety of RRR staff will determine whether we open or not.

Sunday - Most likely we will be closed but again will be decided based on the same criteria as Saturday.

While the forecast may shift a little bit, take this winter storm event seriously and make sure you and your family are prepared for it. IF we get the upper end of forecast ice accumulations, expect widespread power outages.
