𝗠𝗘𝗘𝗧 𝗞𝗘𝗡𝗡𝗬 𝗦𝗖𝗢𝗧𝗧𝗕𝗢𝗥𝗚𝗛.

“𝗜 𝗮𝗺 𝘀𝘁𝗶𝗹𝗹 𝗵𝗲𝗿𝗲. 𝗜 𝗮𝗺 𝘀𝘁𝗶𝗹𝗹 𝘄𝗼𝗿𝗸𝗶𝗻𝗴. 𝗜 𝗮𝗺 𝘀𝘁𝗶𝗹𝗹 𝗰𝗵𝗮𝘀𝗶𝗻𝗴 𝘁𝗵𝗲 𝗱𝗿𝗲𝗮𝗺.”

Kenny has been playing baseball for nearly his entire life — and his goal has never changed: play professional baseball.

But the road getting here hasn’t been easy.

At 17, Kenny was told by a coach that he simply wasn’t good enough.

He kept playing.

He earned his opportunity to play college baseball, and then suffered one of the greatest losses of his life when his father passed away. Financial challenges brought him back home and his path through college baseball took turns he never expected.

He kept playing.

Kenny eventually spent two years playing at Cecil College in Maryland and today plays semi-professional baseball in Brooklyn, where he earned an All-Star selection in his first year.

And now comes the next opportunity.

Kenny has been invited to the California Winter Baseball League and has come to SPARTA for strength, speed and agility training as he prepares for the next chapter.

Because somewhere along the way, Kenny learned something bigger than baseball:

Being told no doesn’t end the dream.

Losing your way doesn’t end the dream.

Even losing someone you love doesn’t end the dream.

Giving up does.

And Kenny isn’t giving up.

𝗠𝗘𝗘𝗧 𝗖𝗛𝗥𝗜𝗦𝗧𝗢𝗣𝗛𝗘𝗥 𝗩𝗔𝗥𝗚𝗔𝗦.

“𝗜 𝗱𝗶𝗱𝗻’𝘁 𝗷𝘂𝘀𝘁 𝗺𝗮𝗸𝗲 𝗶𝘁 𝗼𝘂𝘁. 𝗜 𝗰𝗵𝗮𝗻𝗴𝗲𝗱 𝘁𝗵𝗲 𝗽𝗮𝘁𝗵.”

6’3”. 223 lbs. Queens, NY.

Three days a week, Christopher is making the trip from Queens to Shrewsbury to train at SPARTA — because he has somewhere he intends to go.

Christopher was recently invited to play in the California Winter Baseball League, and he came to us with one goal: level up.

But baseball is only part of his story.

Christopher grew up being told he wouldn’t make it past 18. That his future would be jail — or worse.

Instead, he became the first person in his family to earn two college degrees, became a two-time All-Star, and refused to let the circumstances he was born into determine where he would end up.

When Christopher told us his story, one thing he said stood out:

“𝗜 𝗱𝗶𝗱𝗻’𝘁 𝗷𝘂𝘀𝘁 𝗺𝗮𝗸𝗲 𝗶𝘁 𝗼𝘂𝘁. 𝗜 𝗰𝗵𝗮𝗻𝗴𝗲𝗱 𝘁𝗵𝗲 𝗽𝗮𝘁𝗵.”

That’s bigger than baseball.

Now the next chapter begins.

We’re incredibly proud that Christopher chose SPARTA to be part of it.

✅ 31 pounds gained in just 9 weeks through dedication, consistency, and hard work.

Coach Jimmy and everyone at SPARTA Performance & Recreation Training Arena are incredibly proud of the commitment Justin has shown every single day.

We wish Justin nothing but success as he heads back to college this season. Keep working, keep believing, and keep proving what’s possible.
