Combo Class
Our Ballet, Tap, and Jazz Combo Class is a full-year dance program designed for children ages 4 to 8 years old. This class guides young dancers through a full season of growth, spending equal time on all three styles to keep classes high-energy and engaging. Over the course of the year, students build a foundation, develop musical rhythm, and gain the confidence to perform.
Year-Long Curriculum
Fall (Foundation & Technique): The season begins with building classroom structure and standard terminology. Dancers master the basic feet and arm positions in ballet, learn to isolate sounds in tap, and develop coordination and flexibility through jazz warm-ups.
Winter (Rhythm & Musicality): As skills progress, the focus shifts to timing and musicality. Students learn to count music, memorize short movement combinations, and transition smoothly between ballet slippers, tap shoes, and jazz shoes.
Spring (Artistry & Performance): The final months tie everything together. Dancers focus their skills into learning creative, age-appropriate choreography, mastering spatial awareness on a stage, and preparing a routine to showcase their hard work.
What Dancers Learn
Ballet Elements: Focuses on standard technique, body alignment, balance, and grace. Dancers build physical strength and poise through foundational positions and elegant movement.
Tap Elements: Focuses on rhythm, timing, and footwork. Dancers love learning how to count beats and create crisp sounds using fundamental steps like shuffles, ball-changes, and hops.
Jazz Elements: Focuses on high-energy styling, sharp movements, and fun isolations. This segment allows children to express their individual personalities to upbeat music.
Recommended Attire:
To ensure safety and freedom of movement, students should wear a leotard, biketard, or athletic dress with tights, but not mandatory. Dancers will need pink ballet slippers, tap shoes, and slip-on jazz shoes in their dance bag each week.
