My wife is a total stud! She is just shy of five months postpartum. Showed up today for the hummingbird tri and finished. She had one swim prior to the event and today was her first time on a bike at all. Not that she didn’t want to train but she doesn’t like the bike and scheduling in long rides with four kids and a husband who works a lot can be tough. No excuses. Very proud of her! 💪👏 Happy Saturday!
Flex Friday 💪… or FML Friday..? 🤔 😂😂😂😂 Happy Friday! Thank you Nikki for one of the best sessions of the day. She came in and absolutely crushed it! A true kick ass flex Friday! Thank you for being such an awesome example of hard work, positivity and a get stuff done attitude. 🤗💪 but did you die? 😂😂😂😂
The coffee cup is obviously a joke to excuse being in poor shape or the proverbial dad bod. This can also be flipped to use for a reminder to model good behaviors to our children. I took my son to the gym today and his job is to clean the gym. Once he was done he wanted to train and immediately started doing pull ups and some OHPs on the smith machine. We are always modeling behaviors for our kids. Our work habits, food habits, sleeping habits, how we react to situations. Remember that impact that you have on your children, they are watching. Dad bods are a sorry excuse for being in poor shape, do better. 💪 Happy Saturday.
A little motivation Monday coming from a strong weekend for many. I think sharing some individuals victories from the weekend can help many of us start the week out strong and push us to get after it, whatever it may be. So I am sharing a few screen shots just from the last couple days. We have an ACFT crushed by one of my clients that wasn’t too sure they would pass six weeks ago, a completed 10k with no walking for the first time, a little consistency on a dietary cut for another and then a race time improvement by knocking a minute off their last trial race. All four of them are crushing it and you should be too! Happy Monday. 💪
One of our gym members crushed it today on the USPF powerlifting platform. Went 9/9 on all his lifts and only did a six week prep. All of us at the gym are super proud of him! As Curtis always says, “Go Hard, Get Hard” happy Saturday! 💪 Curtis Graves
Keep moving! Keep growing! Keep working hard! Keep learning! If you’re not doing any of those things, start! The saying if you don’t use it lose it is very true and is amplified as we age. Ever notice how hard something is or how much strength we lose when we haven’t been using it… Happy Wednesday! 💪
This is a very cool honor for what it’s worth. I’m not sure who nominated us or who voted but it’s very cool and much appreciated. Let’s hope we can keep up our streak of second best gym in town five years in a row! 💪😂 Happy Tuesday!
Motivation Monday! My wife starting her prep for a half marathon. Three months postpartum. Happy Monday! 💪🏃♀️
Possibly my favorite salad ever. Super simple: chopped romaine lettuce, craisins, Parmesan cheese, honey mustard. You can add chicken to this as well if it’s not complimenting a main meal. Happy Wednesday! 💪
Body positivity is great to an extent. There is a gray area and we see more and more that body positivity is superseding an individuals health. It seems the body positivity movement is pushing towards an excuse of being unhealthy. We should love and appreciate our body and the amazing things it can do but also be a good steward of our body, we only get one. We really should make our best effort to take care of our bodies to the best of our abilities. No excuses. Thoughts? Happy Monday! 💪
I don’t train a lot of youth athletes and it’s simply because most of the time it’s parents pushing the child. It’s not something the child wants to do or they are appeasing the parent. However, I do make exceptions when it’s the child’s idea, they are old enough to benefit and the athleticism is there for training to elevate them in their sport. As you can see here all it takes is one workout with me and your child too can be a home run hitting machine! ⚾️😉😂 Happy Wednesday! 💪
My wife’s eight week “transformation” this is after four children and being about 10 weeks postpartum. No crazy food restriction, no pills, surgery, interventions aside from being relatively consistent. She’s breastfeeding, still struggling with sleep and using the gym as an outlet as our schedule allows. No guilt by not sticking to a perfect schedule or plan but rather going with the flow. It’s not perfect and there are struggles but it’s obviously paying off. Be patient with yourself, consistent, flexible and don’t quit. 💪😉 happy Tuesday!
Wanted to share a client win this morning. She’s increased her dietary protein intake and has been feeling fuller. Wanted to check her weight and was worried because she’s been satiated and feeling fuller more and longer. Amazingly, her weight was 10 pounds less than what she was expecting to see. 💪😉 The composition of your diet absolutely matters. Have a great Thursday!
My wife getting after it earlier this week six weeks postpartum. She started out pregnancy in good shape, trained when she felt up to it while pregnant and now has gotten back into it as her schedule allows. She’s amazing at adjusting on the fly and allowing herself to ebb and flow based on our busy schedule and being a great mother to our four children. The key here is that your plan doesn’t need to be perfect but you need to be consistent and patient with yourself. My wife can be hard on herself but I think seeing this can help a lot of other moms. Realize you don’t always feel great, you can be tired, sometimes your schedule blows up, no one has it perfect or easy but it’s that cumulative impact over time. Progress not perfection. Being good most of the time is much better than perfect occasionally. Happy hump day! 💪

A huge piece of the puzzle to staying independent and sharp is resistance training. It’s not even debatable. Use it or lose it is real. If you’re not growing you’re dying. Go lift some heavy things. Happy Tuesday! 💪
Happy Friday! 💪🍑
May not be pretty but it was quick and well rounded. Less than 45 minutes. We have dry rub baked chicken thighs, sautéed garlic zucchini and waffle fries. Everyone will be happy and fed. Now back to work! 💪 Happy Thursday!
Super simple meal done from start to finish in under 45 minutes. Grilled steaks, steamed broccoli and cilantro lime rice. It’s what I had in the fridge. Don’t overthink things. 😉 Now off to baseball. 💪
Crushed this trial run just this morning to the point it’s worth posting this evening. Strapped for time I tossed all this together at 4:00am and the kids were eating it at 7:00. I think 90 minutes on low would be an efficient amount of time.
*1 cup rolled oats
*2 cups milk or liquid of choice
*1/4 cup brown sugar or other sweetened or choice
*2tsp of cinnamon a pinch of salt
*3/4 shredded Granny Smith apple the tartness of the granny smith apple mixes will with the brown sugar and oats mix up in the slow cooker and set on low for 90 minutes
very easy to make this your carb source with some eggs, protein powder, or even as a dessert with some whipped cream or granola crumble or berry topping. Happy Monday! 💪
Happy Monday! We had this young lady who came to us out of desperation. She was doing endless cardio, restricting food and generally living her most miserable life. While we are far from finished she’s made incredible progress in the past 6-8 weeks. No longer doing endless cardio and restricting every food and calories to an absurdly low amount she actually looks BETTER. That’s a major positive for a physique athlete but more importantly she’s much happier and healthier. Keep an eye out as she keeps improving significantly moving forward in her 50’s. 💪
Such good progress I had to share as a post. She took some time to focus on developing glutes and you can see all that hard work paid off. This is someone who struggled with glutes now having very apparent glute development. Good work! 💪 Happy Tuesday too.
PREMISE: The purpose of this study was to determine the impact of sleep on objective energy intake, expenditure, and weight.
METHODS: Eighty adults 21-40 years old with BMIs between 25-29.9 who habitually sleep less than 6.5 hours were randomized (RCT) into control or sleep extension groups of up to 8.5 hours.
RESULTS: Those who extended sleep by 1.2 hours per night decreased food intake by a significant 270 calories while energy expenditure was similar between groups.
APPLICATION: More sleep = faster fat loss.

Happy Monday! 💪 I just wanted to thank everyone for the birthday messages. Often I wonder how much of an impact I can have on people and then the amount of messages I received from people that took time out of their day to wish me well was incredible. Thank you. 💪 Let’s crush the week! (I am working on getting back to everyone who messaged me)
The key to a strong, healthy and lasting relationship are strong and developed glutes. Men and women alike don’t neglect the glutes. That tip is free. 🫡🤫 Happy Saturday! 😂💪
This young man has been crushing it! He’s up seven pounds since we started the first of the year and he’s been a sponge for knowledge. With a plan, ex*****on and bit of effort the possibilities are endless. This has been far from perfection but progress does not require perfection. 💪
“Shane why does your gym always looks so stacked?” Well, that’s because we are the children’s medium tee of gyms. 💪 😂😂😂 Happy Wednesday!
