ANNOUNCEMENTS:
Circle of Trust: PRIORITIES & PRESENCE
PRIORITIES
We all get the same 24 hours a day.
● 8 hours sleeping
● 8 hours working
● 8 hours left
That leaves roughly 8 hours of “free” time every day. What are we doing with it?
Those 8 hours disappear quickly—phones, social media, TV, chores, hobbies, working late, and everything else competing for our attention. Then we say our priorities are our faith, family, health, and relationships. But here’s the question: Does the way we spend our time actually match the priorities we say we have?
We don’t have to give everything equal time, but we need to be intentional about what gets our best time.
PRESENCE
As men, it’s easy to believe that providing for our families is enough. We work hard, pay the bills, put food on the table, and make sure our kids have what they need. Providing matters—but providing and being present aren’t the same thing.
Your family probably isn’t going to remember most of the things you bought them. They’re going to remember whether you showed up, listened to them, played with them, knew what was happening in their lives, and made them feel like they mattered.
You can be sitting right beside your family while your mind is somewhere completely different. Being home isn’t the same as being present.
THE CHALLENGE
Take an honest look at your 8 hours. Where are they going? And when you’re spending time with the people you say are most important to you, ask yourself: Am I actually there, or am I just in the room?
Our families need us to provide, but they also need us.
Know your priorities. Protect your time. Put the phone down. Be where your feet are.
