Gōjū (剛柔).
Strength and softness.
In jiu-jitsu, we learn that being strong isn’t always about pushing harder. Sometimes it’s about yielding, adapting, and knowing when to flow.
The same is true in life.
There is a time to stand firm.
There is a time to bend without breaking.
Wisdom is learning the difference. 🤙

SPEAK LIFE
Not just in how we train—
but in how we speak. The words we choose here matter.
They can lift.
They can steady.
They can remind someone
they’re capable when they forget.
So we encourage.
We support.
We call out the good in each other.
Because sometimes
all it takes is one voice to change the direction of someone’s day.
The tongue has the power of life and death… Proverbs 18:21

THE SILENT GIVERS
Some gifts arrive without announcement.
A donated item
A helping hand
A meal shared
A quiet act of service
No spotlight - No recognition requested.
No expectation of anything in return.
To those who continue to give in ways most people never see….thank you.❤️
Please know that we see you.
We feel your kindness.
We feel the weight of your generosity and the blessing it brings.
Your gifts do more than provide supplies or support a need.
They lift our spirits.
They strengthen morale.
They help keep the doors open and the community thriving.
Cornerstone has been sustained by many quiet acts of service and we are deeply grateful for every one of them.
Please know that your kindness matters. Your generosity is always felt. And the seeds you plant continue to bless others long after the moment has passed.
With gratitude,grace, humility

GUIDANCE
Meet them where they are
It’s not about standing above.
It’s about coming down—
meeting them where they are,
step by step.
Holding space.
Giving time.
Walking alongside.
Because learning isn’t rushed here.
It’s guided.
It’s patient.
It’s built together.
Encourage one another and build each other up… - 1 Thessalonians 5:11

GAMAN
Not loud strength.
Not ego.
Not the need to complain or be seen.
To stay steady.
Respectful.
Composed.
Even when things are uncomfortable.
Just the quiet discipline
to endure with patience, humility,
and self-control.
That kind of strength lasts.
Whoever is slow to anger is better than the mighty, and he who rules his spirit than he who takes a city. -Proverbs 16:32

RESILIENCE
Not every moment feels strong.
Sometimes it’s uncomfortable.
Sometimes it’s tiring.
Sometimes it would be easier to stop.
But we stay in it.
We learn to work through—
to breathe, to adjust, to keep going.
Not perfectly,
but faithfully.
Because resilience isn’t built when things are easy—
it’s built when we choose
not to quit.
Blessed is the one who perseveres under trial— James 1:12

SEIJITSU
Teaches that strength is not only skill—it is honesty, sincerity, and consistency of character.
To be the same person on the mat and off the mat. Private and public.
Words and actions aligned.
Integrity is a 𝙦𝙪𝙞𝙚𝙩 discipline.
This too, is part of the art.
