Credit Union Scholarships | Washington College Scholarships Gesa Credit Union in Washington provides scholarships for college applicants, attendees, and post-college credit union members for college education.

Have you thought about giving back and "getting into the (wrestling) game"? There are several opportunities right now at CKHS, KSS, Ridgetop, Fairview, Poulsbo, and Kingston. Two are head coach jobs, and the remainder are assistants.

Last evening's turnout for Mike Harter's Hall of Fame induction in Yakima was awesome. He would have been proud that so many came to remember him and his wrestling legacy.

HOTEL INFORMATION

The Red Lion Hotel in Yakima is adjacent to the Convention Center and they have a special rate for the clinic setup soon. Mention that you are attending the clinic if you would like to reserve rooms. The hotel does not know the difference between the hall of fame ceremony and the clinic, so just tell them you are attending the clinic. They get confused when you mention HOF. Their phone number is 509-248-5900.

Wrestlers: here's an opportunity to get in some local summer wrestling and jiu jitsu. The wrestling clinician is Ale DeLaPena, Head Coach of Central Kitsap Wrestling. If you've never wrestled, it's an opportunity to try it out with a 14 day free trial.

Come and get to know some teammates you've already wrestled with or will be wrestling with as you transition from middle school to high school. For those new to wrestling, Coach DeLaPena is a three time state champion from eastern Washington and former All Navy Head Wrestling Coach.

There are ride-sharing possibilities.

Former Central Kitsap wrestling coach Mike Harter receives hall of fame nod Harter, who died in 2019, will be inducted into the Washington State Wrestling Coaches Association Hall of Fame this fall.

Great news that I and many of you have probably been waiting for: I was just now notified that in his last year of eligibility, Mike Harter has been elected into the Washington State Coaches Hall of Fame.

The induction will be at this year's wrestling conference in Yakima. This is in the first part of November. As soon as I get further information, I'll post it for those who may want to attend.
